Appearance Notes: Imelle is a small, blue chibi octopus. He has darker patches/markings scattered over him, and a lighter snowflake marking. He is always at least slightly transparent and gives off a slight glow, but if his human host is transformed, then he is extremely transparent. They can glow more or less, but they naturally glow more when their powers are being used, or in the rare instance of them using their own powers in some capacity.

Character Lore

History

Imelle was created in the 1500s by the sorceress, Erin, with input from Hiyuki, another sorceress. Hiyuki was his first host, and the two worked and lived closely together for the duration of Hiyuki's lifetime. After her death, Imelle fell into a deep sleep within their crystal until the modern day. He then chose Raelene to be his new host, and bonded to her once she agreed.

Personality

Imelle has a somewhat shy personality. While he isn't easily scared or intimidated by most things, he is very careful about what he chooses to say and seldom takes anything at face value. He feels the influence of spirits does too much irreparable damage to humans, and is torn between selfishly wanting to be fused to a human so he isn't trapped in an unnatural sleep and feeling guilty about mutating another human in a way he thinks can only be negative. He generally seems hesitant about doing his job or giving the humans too much access to their powers, but doesn't argue much.  

Imelle is naturally a bit more casual, and tends to like being around social situations, even if he doesn't partake much. While he appreciates all sounds under his domain, he does have strong preferences for music and atmospheric environment in general. He finds modern technological advancements bewildering and suspicious, but he's very curious about social developments and modern customs, and has not decided how to feel about the overlap of the two.

Relationships

• Raelene/Carilon: Imelle and Raelene are magically bound together. Imelle worries about Raelene a lot, since she really goes for practicing and learning more about their powers, and Raelene sometimes finds Imelle a bit frustrating with how overly cautious he is. Still, she likes trying to show him television and explaining modern social rules to him, and he likes her optimism (even if he doesn't agree with it) and sense of justice. The pair eventually find a rhythm that works for them, especially since unlike some of the other spirits, Imelle is honest about the risks of the job from the beginning, so Raelene finds him easy to trust.
