Profile
Tsubaki is gentle, patient and kindhearted. He wouldn't hesitate to help someone in need and approaches all situations with a sweet smile. Others regard him as an angel on Earth due to his caring nature, but he doesn't really think anything of it. An optimistic and bright young man, he is enthusiastic about all types of interests and loves to hear about others' hobbies. He'll do his best in whatever he tries, be it physical activity or the arts or anything else. He's perceptive, a great listener and is excellent at giving thoughtful advice. Though he will treat everyone kindly, he doesn't often get close to people and is quite private and reserved about himself. He always dodges questions about his personal life because he doesn't want to seem vulnerable to others. Due to his role as a person who everyone trusts with their problems, he feels that he shouldn't burden others with his own troubles and keeps to himself. His empathy towards others sometimes will stress him out, leading him to seclude himself for periods of time. A neat-freak, he loves to keep places tidy and clean, often throwing whatever he deems to be "clutter." His grandmother taught him how to cook and he has since taught himself many recipies. He's an amazing cook and can make anything taste good.
Tsubaki has orange-y red hair cut into a blunt bob with and amber eyes. He has two small bunny ears that are close together on his head, and a camellia flower on the left side. He wears a black yukata with a yellow trim with dark hakama, a brown obi and a red tie with a camellia flower accent. He wears okobo geta with tabi. Over his clothes, he wears a red haori with a floral pattern. He also has a small, red, bunny tail and the character (赤) on his left pectoral . Standing at 5'6" / 168 cm with narrow shoulders and a thin waist, Tsubaki is rather petite and delicate for a man.
Tsubaki was born into a loving family in the countryside consisting of his mother, father and grandmother. His childhood was peaceful and uneventful for the most part. This all changed when one day when he was 11. After coming home from school one day, he smelled burning smoke. It turned out to be his home up in flames. He quickly rushed home where fire marshalls were working to put out the fire. Afterwards, he discovered that his parents had perished in the fire, but his grandmother was okay since she was at the market when the fire started. Heartbroken and having experienced the first loss in his life, Tsubaki was crushed. He became very depressed and refused to eat, play, or even step foot outside his room. His grandmother, a phoenix Hanakotoba who has lived for centuries, comforted him and explained to him that in a lifetime, everyone experiences love and loss. She told him that his parents were watching over him and that he'll learn to open his heart to love again. Tsubaki slowly emerged from his depressive state and grew accustomed to normal life again. He returned to school, studying Botanical Sciences because of his love for flowers. Life for Tsubaki was peaceful again, but not for long it seemed. One day a moody young man passed through his neighbourhood and was immediately taken with his beauty. He treated the other the same kindness as he treats everyone, but his persistance touched his heart. He fell in love with Reo and they ended up becoming lovers. Their relationship allowed for Tsubaki to freely love and smile brightly again.
Reo is Tsubaki's lover. Since Reo is his first love, he gives him unconditional love and support. He always teases Reo for being spoilt because he's younger, but he actually loves it when Reo acts childish. He can't help but melt a little everytime Reo is trying to act dependable. He always praises Reo since he knows Reo loves it. Gives Reo a lot of pet names like "my Prince", "darling", "my love", "sweetheart", etc.
Seishi is Tsubaki's second cousin. Tsubaki always worries about Seishi's health and often goes up to the shrine to bring him supplies. Now that Seishi has Mahiro, he doesn't need to bring supplies as often, but still goes to see them often with Reo. He's a big fan of Seishi's work and collects the first print of all his books. Of course, he gets Seishi to autograph all of them too.
Mahiro and Tsubaki are good friends. Mahiro's infectious energy helped Tsubaki to become less reserved and more free-spirited. Mahiro's often takes Tsubaki hiking or they do other recreational activities. It always often ends up with Tsubaki and Mahiro tuckering themselves out and falling asleep on the floor. Affectionately calls Mahiro "Hiro".
