Seishi

Seishi is usually serious and stoic. He regards everything with a cold, analytical mind. Blunt and doesn't mince his words, he comes off as insensitive and rude. People usually distance themselves from him, but it doesn't affect him in the slightist. He is perfectly content with being left alone to do his own thing, since he finds social interaction a hassle. He is extremely devoted to the arts and passionate about them. He goes through life at his own pace and lives a relaxed life. Despite this, he is quite fickle and gets sick of routine. Self-centered, he doesn't really care about others' opinions at all.
Seishi has a weak constitution. He often forgets to eat when he gets really into his work, sometimes skipping meals for days. This often results him in passing out. Because he is a snake, he gets cold often too. Additionally, he has terrible vision. Without his glasses or contacts, he is almost legally blind.

Seishi has long, floor-length, white hair with one lock that falls in front of his eyes. Under his pink-red eyes, he has three red scales. He has Kousa Dogwood flowers growing out of either side of his head. Seishi has a slim build and is rather sickly. Being a mythical Shirohebi Hanakotoba, he has a long, white snake tail starting below his hips, though he can transform them into legs at will. With his human legs, Seishi stands at about 6'0"/183 cm. With his snake tail, he measures 11'0" / 3.35 meters from the top of his head to the tip of of his tail. Seishi has the birthmark (運) under his belly button, right where his scales start. Seishi ususally wears a yukata and a haori, but occasionally wears modern casual clothes.

Seishi is from a long-established family that has been suffering in recent years. Though the family has a good name, in the recent, deficits, debts and bankrupcies have caused the family to become extremely poor. When Seishi was born, he was the first mythical Hanakotoba in his family line, being a White Snake spirit blessed with the power of luck. Singlehandedly, his presence allowed for the family to pay off their debts and regain their former status. Growing up, he was unaware of his influence, but as he got older, he realized that his powers were also causing problems for his family. His father was always hounded by people who wanted to "borrow" his powers for their own use. Seishi himself was also subjected to several kidnapping attempts, once where it almost resulted in the death of his younger brother. Realizing that he couldn't keep causing so much trouble and pain for his family, he enlisted the help of the nearby shrine to put a protective charm on his family and then left home. Bringing nothing along with him, he lived in an abandoned shrine he found up the mountain. After cleaning it up, he started writing stories, poetry and calligraphy. On a whim one day, he decided to send in his mystery novel based on his childnood to a publisher. It was a immediate hit and he became well known for his books. Nowadays, he mostly writes historical fiction, though he sometimes writes short mystery stories.
