Blackwing

 Species: Ulysses Butterfly, Papilio ulysses

 Size: 5 in., 12.7 cm.

Blackwing is a bat-riding butterfly. His parents were respected leaders of his flock, however, he was not selected for the position and was passed over in favor of a moth named Bristlecone. Later, he tried to lead a coup against Bristlecone but was ultimately defeated and banished into the jungle.

During Dusk's story, discovers where his old flock is living by following Dusk and his bat, then sets out to conquer it using his newfound knowledge of fire. He is rumored to be magical.
