About
Idutlian is someone who has been around for what seems to be when time started. She comes from the Sheikah, and travels Hyrule on her own. She is very skilled with a bow and at climbing. Link can find her in many places around the map, and she will often give him quests with rewards from herself or that are shrine related. She is pretty quiet and reserved, and regardless of outfit will always be wearing a mask. You can meet her in some isolated corners of the map, no matter how dangerous. She carries a Sheikah slate on her hip like Link, though it has far less capability than Link's. She loves to take photos with Link, which she will send you at the end of each quest. She is very grateful for what he does for help, and after taking her to Revali she will send presents of thanks to his house.
She has a past with Revali. If you take her to Vah Medoh, a request from her after meeting her, you will enter a cut scene in which she removes her mask and hugs Revali. This will start a memory for Link where she appears in the background of other memories. After this you learn that she is no ordinary Sheikah, and has been alive for thousands of years. After receiving the scars on her face, it was like time stopped aging her. She hides her identity due to this, as she does not wish for people to find she is ageless. After this, you can continue to find her around the map, but will also be callable to your location by contacting her through the slate.
Design
Notes
- She is never seen without some type of mask until she meets Revali.
- She has two large scars on her lower face that no one else knows the origin of.
- Her putfit updates with the time period, as well as her hair.
- Her bow is custom made, and has a part of Revali's Champion ribbon as well as a couple of his feathers.
Personality
With the need to somewhat hide her identity, she tends to travel alone. As such she has become somewhat quiet, but upon working with Link more will warm into someone with more pip to her step and more excited to do things with him. She is very cautious when she travels through towns and will hardly speak unless necessary. She values honesty and action, though understands the deal of keeping some things to yourself. She is a go-getter with lots of experience who somehow has never lost her happiness towards the world.
Likes
Archery
Not only is she good at it, but it also reminds her of the time she spent with Revali whomst she misses dearly.
Blue
The colour of his feathers and the cloth he gave her were blue, and is now her favourite colour.
Dogs
When she travels, the dogs at stables are the only ones not to judge her and thus has taken a liking.
Fruitcake
Not only is it delicious, she feels like she can take on the world after eating it.
Dislikes
Hateno Lab
The lady there was too excited about her slate, and might know too much about Idutlian, somehow. Seems like she isn't getting older either.
Course Honey
She's been stung one too many times.
Lynel
They are by far the worst creatures she has come across, and has been lucky to get out. The scars on her leg say so.
Swords
She is awful at using them, and has cut herself before.

Progression
When she first started exploring, she was actually really bad at fighting. She cut herself with a sword and couldn't pick up a lot of two handed weapons. She prefered to use a spear in meele combat, but her aim with a bow and arrow was just better. She refined this skill across her travels and became one of the best bow users in Hyrule, without anyone actually knowing.
Scars for Life
Receiving the scars to her face came pretty early, about 25 years after birth. She was attacked by some beast that she never got to see clearly. She thought she was going to die in the middle of no where, but the bleeding stopped pretty soon and her she is thousands of years later.
Sheikah Technology
Idutlian was actually part of building the original guardians and divine beasts, even the Sheikah slates, but living for thousands of years and taking on many of battles really takes a toll on what you can remember.
Her Own Slate
Idutlian receives her own Sheikah slate from Impa just days before the Calamity. She had provided much help in the preperations so it was like a reward. She had begun to travel again when the Calamity hit, and went into hiding for almost a century at Hateno Village before she would start to adventure again. She would change her clothes and hair every couple of decades and would provide a different weapon skill to protect the village each time. Hopefully no one would recognise she wasn't aging.
Trivia
- The scar on her right arm is from her own poor use of a sword.
- The lynel that almost killed her was the one in the Herba region.
- She's very good at sneakily getting around.
- She's very good at climbing trees.
- She's incredibly good at fixing bows, and will do it for Link if her bring hert he materials.
- She hasn't seen Impa since she received the Sheikah Slate, and is now too scared to show her face in case of reprimand or losing her Slate.
- Her favourite flower is the blue nightshade.
Relationships
Revali
Idutlian and Revali were incredibly close before his death. She would visit him all the time and would often be seen with him. She was of great help when figuring out the Sheikah technology, thus wasn't seen as weird to be around him all the time.
Isha
Idutlian met Isha when travelling to the desert, and fell in love with her jewellery. They talked a lot and Idutlian would often visit bringing them close together. She is glad to have someone to talk to again, and share her stories with.
Link
Idutlian and Link became close after the Calamity, where they explored together and helped on another navigate the new world. She is proud of all that he has done, even with a loss of memory.
Zelda
Idutlian would often sneak into Zelda's room to update her on how the work with the Guardians was going, and it brought the two of them close together. Zelda was likely the reason a Sheikah slate was given to Idutlian.
