Emanuel Rittu's Links
Emanuel thinks Victor is a very bright young man. Even if the boy has that bad habit of his. He wishes Victor would stop smoking but he knows his efforts are pretty futile. Emanuel will never turn down a trip with Victor. He enjoys spending time with the young lad and is proud of how interested Victor is in learning from him.
Victor immensely respects Emmanuel, viewing him as a mentor and (internally) a father figure they’ve never had. He enjoys going on hikes with Emmanuel and learning new things, just listening to Emmanuel speak. Even though Emmanuel often dislikes his smoking habit, he often plays up his bad habits around him to mess with him and ensure he won’t leave Victor, and he never does, even if he gets a bonk on his head for the trouble.
It's always a pleasure when Emanuel finds someone who is as interested in plants as he is. He very much enjoys Dr. Morana's company and has even invited her to his greenhouse for a casual conversation of plants over a nice cup of tea. Willow is probably one of the few people Emanuel genuinely looks forward to talking to and spending time with. He regrets not keeping in touch as often since getting involved with Ayala.
Willow greatly enjoys Emmanuel’s company. Whenever they meet up they can talk endlessly about plants and the best tea mixes. Even if they may get into silly arguments about the best sweeteners or the optimal garden composition, they’re great friends that talk about the old days together.
Emanuel believes Nat has a fine head on her shoulders but will never understand how she can support Ayala. Despite this, he respects her and enjoys talking to her over a cup of hot chocolate or tea on occasion. Just as long as Ayala isn't brought up.
Nat doesn’t mind at all the bird’s presence, sometimes preferring to just talk and chat about… most everything, really. Whether it’s focused on fauna, tea, animals or the like, she respects Emanuel…. To a degree. Now, if only him and Juan could stop bickering at each other-
Emanuel prides himself in being polite and respectful around others. However...this all tends to go out the window when Ayala is around. The man's disheveled appearance and overall lack of decorum irks Emanuel to no end. The feuding between them has become almost, if not completely, personal at this point. Emanuel can't help but make snide remarks about Ayala although he gets extremely flustered when Ayala comes back at him with what can only be described as, well, flirting
Teasing the birdie is always fun for Ayala. In the ranger circles, he was always the controversial figure and Emanuel makes sure to point it out. Between jabs at Rittu´s work and flirting, the man finds great joy on making those pretty feathers of his all ruffled up.
[Oracle] They are a little secret, a problem in the making.
Clover had made a good impression on Emanuel from what he saw of them in chat. It was a pleasant surprise for him when they asked to visit! Emanuel always enjoys sharing others company and having people visit. He enjoys Clover's baked goods but likes talking with them even more. It's nice to find a fellow plant enjoyer and they've given him some very valuable advice throughout their time spent together.
Meeting Emanuel through the chats, Clover has grown close to the botanist over time. Happy to have a friend like him, she finds herself bringing more and more treats each time she visits so she can stay and chat for just a few more minutes. Their shared interest in plants is something they've been able to bond over nicely, as well as Clover's advice for some of the tougher situations that Emmy might have found himself in. Though there have been some rough moments for Emanuel, Clover admires that he still carries on. Should he stumble again, they'll be there to help him back up, and put one foot in front of the other once more. They hope, though, that their picnics in the reservoir far outnumber the bumps in the path ahead.
Emanuel first found Rita while doing some research leading up to his visit to Xuxia. As soon as he found out about the lunar gardener, he got in contact. As a fellow plant enthusiast, they have gotten along quite well and have shared countless tips, tricks, and methods for how they each nurture the plants under their care. Emanuel is very excited to visit Rita in person one of these days.
Rita met Emmy originally through a forum about gardening and plants. Rita was always happy to answer his questions and eventually thy got to talking, with Rita sending pictures of her harvest and seeds to Emmy, getting to the point of exchanging some plants. It's refreshing for Rita to see a non Xuxian care so much for plants, and she will defend the man from anyone who tries to accuse him. It's a rare sight to see and Rita doesn't want his passion or drive for learning more to dwindle because of it. She also totally send him silly plant pictures from time to time.
A fellow ranger whose interests lay outside of animal care. Emanuel finds some similarities between Isidore and himself in that respect. Their connection to Juan in his youth has lead him to want to know more, even if Juan doesn't seem too keen about all the teasing that goes on when they discuss such things at the ranger meetings.
The lad that managed to snatch the last Ayala. He has been aware of Rittu through their work but never expected him out of all things to be the one that gave Juan a sense of normalcy. It is, rather cute, how those two birds bicker around. Personally he enjoys someone that takes the job seriously for a change, but isn't much of a fun of plants. After all, mushrooms are Isidore's whole thing.
When Sol showed up at Emanuel's house, Emmy found that he rather enjoyed their company. Giving them a full tour of the greenhouse and sharing more than a few cups of tea. Sol is always welcome to visit and chat with him. However he can't help but feel a slight resentment towards the guy. Deserved or not, it's...hard to say. He makes sure to tread lightly around them.
At first the reason they gave Rittu the time of day was because they felt a bit bad on how hard Ayala's mess hit them. It may be also related to work and what the bosses thought about their relationship. Emmy is a good guy, has funny plants and all. maybe one day theyll get him to relax a little.
Yet another person Emanuel has taken to worrying about. He's relied on Rotui for quite a few near disasters involving Ayala. This has led to an odd friendship between the two. They bond over the odd situations they seem to get into that any normal person would find hard to believe. He tries to meet up with Rotui every so often to get some things off his chest and...at least try to relax a little if at all possible.
An old man. Fuckhead needs to learn to get outta work mode in Rotui's eyes. Get outta his element more often.
But, their weekly visits with each other, after everything. The surfer finds it nice to destress with someone else who's been in- at least a bit of that same stress.
An asshole. Sotheby can keep that title. He doesnt want it. Emmy never really liked Sotheby just based on everything he'd heard from Juan. Despite this, he thought he'd give him a chance...let him prove that maybe he wasn't as bad as Emanuel had come to believe he was. This has led to...varied results. He wants to continue to hate the man. Some days, this is incredibly easy...other days, not so much.
Emanuel is what the man considers- a new anchor for Juan into what we call reality. The truth is, he does not hate the man, nor wishes him evil, but recognizes that he must act rather mean to keep the pecking order within Juan's circles. If he can handle Sotheby's bites, then he can handle the crude reality behind Ayala. He makes a hobby out of teasing him, simply to toughen him up a little.
He's bought a couple outfits from her and appreciates the mending Mich does for him on occasion. The...turtleneck is actually quite comfortable. He still tends to prefer his usual clothes though.
She's heard of the bickering he has with Juan through Nat, and finds the two of them hilarious.
Also, She does know what the turtleneck has mostly been through. :)
Although not at all what he expected when accepting her apprenticeship application, he takes very kindly to Terumi. She is quite his opposite but when it comes down to work, Emanuel admires her passion. He still keeps in touch with her and greatly enjoys reading about her experiences with the Xuxian flora.
Fuck this guy. Kidding, actually. He's a really kind man in her eyes, a bit of a doormat- but not with the things and the plants that he loves, so that's a gold star trait in her eyes. She started working as an apprentice under Emmanuel a few years before she left for her Thesis, but is sure to text the gaffer every day of what horrors lie in the planted planet. Of course, with as much praise as anyone can give.
He won't lie, he was a little nervous meeting with the professor. Especially given that it was at the recommendation of Sotheby of all people. He's found Arata to be quite a pleasant person to talk to and they seem to have quite a few things in common. Emanuel wouldn't mind keeping in touch with the professor though their schedule seems busy. Since Sotheby's stay at the greenhouse, he's not quite sure what to think of Arata anymore. Perhaps another meeting is in order.
Emanuel has known Heigo's parents since before the little raptor was even born. He would often accompany them on excursions, hoping to get his hands on some rare plant samples depending on the areas they were exploring. Although the days he spends conducting field research have dwindled, he still takes time to stay in touch with the Rou family, inviting them over every now and then for dinner or a cup of tea. Its hard for him to believe that Heigo is already going through university. The boy has become a great help around the greenhouse when he visits and Emanuel is always sure to recall old stories relating to his parent's adventures. He tries his best to keep Heigo from asking too many questions when things look rough.
Emmy is like an uncle to Heigo- ever since he was just a wee little dino, he absolutely ADORED to try and help care for his plants, or following him around in his greenhouse with a starry look in his eyes- occasionally covered in soil from accidentally knocking some bags over and trying to take notes on the plants just like Emmy did.
Since Emanuel knew the Rou family rather personally before Heigo was born; the adventurers often worked with the rangers with some exursions; it lead to the two developing a familial relationship of sorts, which still stands to this day!
Heigo looks up to Emanuel a lot, and will always make time to go visit him, though they worry a little at how often he gets hurt nowadays. Though.. he seems happier with that Ayala fella recently, even with the teasing going on between them.. it's rather cute to see, from an outside POV.
Ah, Dani...It's his fault she's seen things she was never supposed to see. Emmy feels horrible about it. He shouldn't have been so careless, no matter the pressure he may have been under at the time. The old bird can only hope she stays silent on what she's learned, else they'll both find themselves in troubled waters. He's tried to offer her what little peace of mind he can on the matter. As long as she chooses not to look further into anything...all should remain fine.
To put things lightly, Emanuel is weary of Juan's ex wife. When your first encounter is a near death experience at her hands, you learn to watch your step. He's only seen her a few times around the farm and, honestly, he wouldn't mind keeping it that way. Despite this, he's come to a sort of understanding about some of her past actions. It's hard when all you can do is watch such a trainwreck.
Mariana and Emanuel share interests and thus sometimes cross each other in Ayala's farm. He seems- terribly scared of her, which she doesn't develop further because she is aware she has a habit of pushing people away by her mere looks.
A work associate and friend of his. Ms. Bombas supplies him with the berbulus and jak-jaks needed for the upkeep of his greenhouse and reservoir. While not making exchanges for work, he usually will offer her some tea and time to catch up with one another.
A work associate and friend. She looks forward to their catch ups over tea, in between work deliveries or exchanges. She has great respect for his knowledge on plants and fauna, and appreciates every bit of advice he has to share for her own little home jungle. Occasionally she has to calm him in his ramblings, even if she finds those delightful.
Tony was a friend from Emanuel's younger college years. They always seemed to have some overlapping classes and even took part in study groups together. The two pretty much parted ways once Tony moved back to Xuxia. It was a shock for him to see Antonio's name listed in the credits while watching a movie. Well...at least it certainly wasn't a profession he'd ever expected from the guy.
