Rotui Zuro's Links
A surprise roommate in his home for sure, one that has pushed him into things and places that he'd admit to never even thinking of going. However- he'd do anything in the world to keep the fella safe, happy, and comfortable. Since... more often then not he finds that Nun helps him feel those very things. Even with their own unconventional methods, he cherishes the effort with every fiber of his being and tries his best to return that feeling.
Nun finds great confidence in being around Rotui. The alphean has taught him to take risks here and there which he is now applying to his future endeavors. He heavily enjoys when he can physically visit the alphean since he plays with the dual's hair and makes it comfortable.
Rotui views Wiz as an outlet of sorts. She's wonderful to confide in, and her misunderstandings of most of the planets 'normal' make him laugh. He likes to teach her what he's figured out for himself - which is.. rather wrong for the most part.
Wiz thinks Rotui is super cool, even if she doesn’t like that him and Ger’Ar fight, she tries not to comment. She loves texting Rotui on a whim to ask any and all questions related to the landwalking world from someone who’s experienced part of hers! He always answers so confidently and even asks her questions in return (which is super thoughtful) even though she never has an answer….
Rotui has a level of trust with Manami to the point where she could literally shoot him and he'd understand that that was a haha funny. She's been a dependable friend for almost as long as he can remember, and he wouldn't know what to do without her level-headed guidance.
They share a work partnership together. Both hosting large scale Volunteer guided events to help clean up beaches and reefs that have been littered to nothing but echos of their past glory. Rotui, unfortunately has been put to the mostly paperwork and meeting side of things. He may not understand the most of what he's doing, but he'd rather do it than hear Nami complain because she doesn't like it either.
Manami is Rotui’s childhood friend, sister-like figure, she’s seen a lot of Tui’s life, and witnessed the friendship fallout between him and Ger’Ar. She’s been there for Rotui since, and puts a lot of trust in him.
She recognizes his intelligence in non-academic subjects, and would do anything at the drop of a penny to help him, getting a last minute deal to go through, letting him stay over when he's feeling down, letting him raid her fridge, basically anything short of murder, but even then maybe Tui had a good reason? Ont that note, as any good sisterly-figure, she would murder for Rotui, but would laugh at him for eating shit while surfing.
They currently work together at their own organization trying to clean up the reef and the shores, unfortunately for Rotui, Nami always seems behind on paperwork, she brings him coffee and food as thanks for helping her catch up.
Rotui could not achieve half the ambitious shit he pulls without the help of Lea. He thinks a lot for someone who barely went through schooling, so Lea is like a filter to those thoughts to him. However they do get into their disagreements when it comes to fish. Rotui's right because he's seen it for himself, Lea may have access to thousands of research journals on the topics, but what do they know?
Lea finds Rotui a big friend of hers. She finds the shark very impulsive, but for the right reasons. She is willing to push her lil bun-bot to the limits of it’s capacity to help Rotui achieve the goals, as his goals seem to align with Lea’s almost directly. She just wishes sometimes she was fully corporeal. Being able to actually touch things with her holograms may have come in hand when working with him.
She also helps him become a better surfer, and learn more about the history of fish and aquatic animal evolution.
Rotui is... weary about the dragon to say the least. Every time that he's tried to help him, it's always been met with disregard or just general disdain. Maybe Rotui's messed up, stepped far too out of his league of control to even be any help to this guy at all. Mr Zhou's alive thanks to Rotui, and the last time they actually talked face to face, he wasn't exactly all too happy about it.
If there is a way to keep distance from Mr. Zhou, he will. He doesn't want to upset him any further.
After the ID incident Zhou has found great remorse in the actions of the hybridwalker. Mostly because Zuro managed to do something that no one has to in years: See beyond his carefully crafted person suit. Of course they recognize the valuable asset he is but still holds anger for the piece of him Zuro took from him. His hope.
It's.. hard to say the least on how Rotui feels about Ayala. There's some strange nuance about him that keeps him coming back. It stopped being some task to take action for and more-so just filling a hole that's been left empty most of his life. A childish yearning just to have some sort of father that cares. About his well being- his interests, whatever. It's just- hard to put down old reflexes of walling himself in to avoid that sort of closeness but... he's getting there. Odd task after odd task, it's getting there. He'll figure it out. He always does.
After the ID Chip incident, officer Ayala has now found great professional comfort in the presence of Zuro. Mostly because they have been very receptive to - all sides- of him. Ayala sees himself in the hybridwalker, a mirage of his youth where he was also angry and impulsive. His mind leads towards poking around in the sharks psyche, maybe even find a friend in such person. Little did he know that it was a two way street and Rotui has managed to see parts of him even he was unaware about. For the officer it is a bad habit and a addiction to pursue their friendship. He wishes to be a good presence but cannot help but be the bearer of bad news every time.
[Oracle] The alpha feels a strange sense of familiar presence towards this- thing, he may be a bit too aggressive in the approach, but it is because he truly does not know better, and like Chronos, has devoured all his prior "children" in the past. One at a time.
The one interaction Rotui's had with Dani, they gave him a concussion. Needless to say, Rotui doesn't know much about her other than she's a damn good puncher.
The first interaction they had with the shark, she gave him a concussion. All cause Arata's drunk ass promised Dani to pay them a drink if they stopped him. And they successfully did it, maybe a bit too much tho. Aside from that, she only knows him from the chat and that he has a close relationship with Nun. Still thinks the guy is pretty cool tho.
Rotui likes that Hiroto can carry the conversation. It's a wonderful change of pace for the shark that he can just sit back , relax, and just listen for a change rather than be involved in a conversation he needs to use his entire brain to think about. Hiroto makes Tui feel like he's living in a world without a death timer, and that's enough for him.
Rotui has quickly become a good friend of the drummer. They don't see eye to eye on everything (literally and figuratively), but Hiro enjoys the shark's company regardless. He finds he's a GREAT buddy to not only bar-hop with, but just hang around too! He enjoys coming over to Tui's house and just chatting with or at the guy, sometimes doin silly goofy stuff like talking about hypothetical LEAs or arguing about popsicle sticks. All in all, Hiro finds he always has a good time when he's with the "Wavecrusher", and he hopes that Rotui feels the same about their time together.
Even the mentioning of this guy's name pisses Rotui the hell off. There's no words to describe how double crossed he felt when he found out that not only was Ger'Ar the leader of a crime ring, he had been one of the main polluters Rotui's spent the greater half of his life cleaning up after. Every. Single. Request. By ANYONE to chill tf out about the guy just- OUGH it pisses him off more. Pity the fuckin purple one, sure. He'll keep professional when he needs to. But come a time that Rotui doesn't end up owing him anything, and they're alone? Let's just hope Ger'Ar doesn't attempt to get close again.
Of all fucking people to be in that stupid LB chat, this guy had to be there. Of course. Of course he did- Ger'Ar can't escape him, it seems. One surefire way to set off the mob boss' remnants of an explosive temper in record time is to pry about the other shark. Their history is extensive, reaching back to when they were both young, but it's safe to say that they don't have the highest opinion of each other at this point. To put it lightly, Rotui's presence is always, ALWAYS overbearing for him. So long as they don't talk directly, *personally,* things should be... Fine. But for the most part? Keep these sharks in their own tanks. They don't play nice.
Just another face in the crowd of volunteers. While Rotui does care for the people that do come help, there's just too often too many for him to remember all of them by name. Rotui did, eventually, learn his name when they started making a presence in the chat, coming to fully recognize him during the Ean attack. While he respects the kid, he still doesn't know that much about him.
Victor met Rotui when they were involved in a beach clean up for conservation. Victor thinks Rotui is pretty cool even if they don’t know them that well, and they enjoy watching them surf over livestream. Sometimes, he’ll try to get Rotui to smoke with him and chill, but he usually chickens out before they manage to ask.
Rotui has not one clue of who this guy is. He thinks he was trying to scare him, but somehow they ended up just playing incredibly casual games of tic tac toe on the beach at god awful hours of the night.
While their meetings are few and sporadic, Rotui HIGHLY values the downtime Cha'ahd offers. Being able to let loose and just- stop thinking. Not even a scary face could deter him from the comfort an outsider provides him. There's a pact between them about no questions asked, no questions answered. Just two homies enjoying very very specific benefits.
Cha'ahd appreciates Rotui immensely. Being a scary alphean to look at, Rotui's indifference to his appearance gives him a lot of comfort.
He enjoys indulging Rotui in whatever the shark would like to, not shying away from weirder requests, just due to the fact that Rotui isn't aversed to any unique quirk Cha'ahd has fills Cha'ahd with gratitude. He considers Rotui an SS-tier homie, despite not meeting often.
Ajax is a sponsor of Rotui's- an exchange of Rotui having some ounce of a say in the environmental ethicality of the manufactured wares of the Leaping Bunny company, while he also promotes said wares for said company. With new events arising, it's come to some... stranger agreement. Keep Ayala fed, the planet doesn't explode or something.
Sennato and Zuro have a silent understanding that even though they do not agree in anything, they have a common endgoal in one aspect of their lives. therefore the CEO will not actively seek to harm this celebrity, though, they keep a very close eye on them without their knowing.
Another instance of 'I've met you once and you're alright.' Long.. drawn out conversation about how big of a CHALLENGE it'd be to come up with a shirt for him. Otherwise he occasionally sees her around when he goes to deliver... stuff.. to Ayala. Praying to Ea she never pries on what 'stuff' is. Maybe that's why all their conversations go a wee on the awkward side.
Four arms, or Rotui, is a bit of a "sure alright" case with Nat. The guy is helping out Juan, and getting the dumbass to actually be more outward, but seems like he has... so much more going on than he shows. At this rate Nat sees it as the 'Ayala effect', where you either despise the ravenstag, or get pulled in to so much of his shit. On other terms, Rotui is chill so far in Nat's book, having quickly found he's a surfing legend or something of the sorts.
Another one of the goofy lizards that Rotui's met. Few conversations have led Tui to learn a lot about this fella, namely where they came from and what they do. It's always cool to hear about! Otherwise, Rotui see's them as any ol' surfin buddy (even if they don't surf together.) Just casual and nice, no hard feelings felt with any of the conversations they've had.
This dudes fuckin weird, I’ll say that. Great at convos, I still fully believe he’s been a theatre kid at least ONE time in his life. Looked into some of the shit he goes through to keep his title and YIKES, aside from just the one he showed me it’s a damn danger. I’m chill with him, enjoy dropping by outta nowhere to shoot the shit.
A small.. wee fella... so itty bitty to this long ass shark. While they're not all too close in Rotui's eyes, they still keeps an eye on where he is in life. He's a little concerned on the way that he's goin about dealing with his problems, but at least comforted that the lil fella's got a good circle of support helping out if need be.
I find him a good friend , someone who I ‘ d be willing to help out so much - especially so after that night with the bonsai tree . We may not talk super often , but I think there ‘ s a lot going on with him . I really hope he ‘ ll be okay , and I ‘ d be willing to help him be okay .
A 'failed' therapy session turned bout of friendship with Arata. Zuro's known of the bird for awhile, given they've been doing... relatively the same thing on different sides of the coin. While Rotui had envisioned the relationship not going past therapy, seems as if he's made a promise to keep coming back to help them, rather than let them continue to help him, given their compromised emotional status.
While aware of and a fan of both names in the duo, Rotui has not put the pieces together on the fact that they're the same person. He's still a bit confused on why Hatsu'd be wearing such a slay of a warm outfit on the beach. "Is she not overheating? Is it like- a work requirement she's gotta be wearing that? I mean she looks great but she's gotta be hot."
Hatsu thought Rotui was a pretty interesting person when she first came across him at a surfing competition while serving another party. She enjoys watching his surfing competitions now and quietly supports him, buying discrete merch.
A wonderful dance partner. While Rotui knew of Jaycelin via the IB, he never truly got to know her until their weekend visits to bars and discos with Sol and Juan. Normally he's the designated driver for these occasions, taking on the night sober, but that doesn't mean he isn't having as much fun as the others. Jaycelin has been helping him with the control and coordination of his arms via the wonderful teaching method that is partner dancing. He's still getting the hang of it, only really being good at it when he's distracted by something else, but he values the effort and patience Jaycelin's affording him while he learns.
Aveira has many conflicting feelings about this halfing, mostly because they were polite enough to lend an ear to her world and not judge it for face value. All things though, die, and so will this halfing, she has to deal with this fact, yet doesn't know how to. Making bonds was never easy, this one is not an exception. Ayala says that it is good that she speaks to others, though, and as contractor she has to respect such idea.
An old man. Fuckhead needs to learn to get outta work mode in Rotui's eyes. Get outta his element more often.
But, their weekly visits with each other, after everything. The surfer finds it nice to destress with someone else who's been in- at least a bit of that same stress.
Yet another person Emanuel has taken to worrying about. He's relied on Rotui for quite a few near disasters involving Ayala. This has led to an odd friendship between the two. They bond over the odd situations they seem to get into that any normal person would find hard to believe. He tries to meet up with Rotui every so often to get some things off his chest and...at least try to relax a little if at all possible.
Holy fucking shit hoooooly shit holy shit holiest fucking shit
do you see this guy?? do you fucking sEe this guy??
this is peak. there's no greater. Listen there's none greater in tui's eyes than oculum's fucking P r e s e n c e. cosmos above they're awesome.
Zuro is one of the many that have recieved a kiss of death. Mortem doesn't put much mind into their existence aside from the use they are to them.
As always, there's a lot of faces in the crowds of projects. Rotui remembers the regulars, but Shani's been a stand out a lot of the time. Given she's.. very quick to get her Tsuka out when trying to get people.. 're-motivated' on the job. While she's never outright bitten people, he never wanted her to really get close to that point.
It's been a bit since she's seen her around, however. So- off to greater things, he supposes.
In her earlier college days, Terumi would more often than not be found at various volunteering efforts to clean up her home planet, Zuro's campaigns being one of them. She tended to be a little more snippy at other volunteers, always one to say, "If you're going to complain about the job, why even be here in the first place?", definitely scaring others into not half-assing the job.
Asides from the work, she's always secretly admired what the surf shark had done with his hair. Of course going even further into the punk stylings to make sure that inspiration was never seen.
Way smart. Rotui's a little afraid of her, given this just. Vibe of disappointment she wafts off. However it's not like she's mean or off-putting in any manner, she says everything with a smile and so gently, it's just. The undertone. It's less of a purr and more of a growl. There's a bit of an understanding that she's taking the wheel if they're both in the same room.
An. Odd meeting to say the least. She met the shark in some.. manic stasis over a similar yet.. accentuated obsession over the same shape Lycurgus was. His presence tries her patience to say the least, and every time they meet, he seems to get a bit better, but he's still not company she'd like to keep on a casual basis.
Meeting Shan was certainly one of those surprises Rotui couldn't exactly expect. With his relationship to Ayala, it was certainly.. coming to him for someone to notice the fights. Their first encounter was her 'attempts' to defend her father. And through- an odd conversation, the two quickly formed a strange sibling-like bond. They tussle, they squabble, but most importantly, they snooze together.
A symbolic sibling of sorts due to their relation to Ayala, Shan likes to mess with the shark when she can, simply because it is fun see him react so much. But don't get her wrong, only SHE can mess with him like that, everyone else gets the knife.
One of the outshiners at His and Manami's beachside cleanups is Zenu. Kid reminds him a lot of himself, even if they aren't too different in age. Often times, he feels like a camp counselor to the kid, teaching handy little tips like how to tie garbage bags so that the knot holds enough to be carried by it, or how to herd little radioactive fish in a manner that won't get you irradiated yourself. Kid's got a lot to learn and Tui- doesn't exactly know why he was the one chosen to be looked up to. But it's- charming in a way.
