About

Jovial • Protective • Affable • Nosey

Myth is the spirit of knowledge, living quietly and peacefully in a massive library secluded in a massive forest. He collects tomes, scrolls, and diagrams to preserve, copy, and distribute in the library, with just a few dedicated helpers. Unfortunately, he often finds this incredibly boring, actually being a rather social creature, and any visitors (which are always welcome) often find him to be something of a pest as he asks incessant questions.

Occasionally, he allows students to stay at the library and study any topics of their choice or hone their skills. Myth, however, does not believe in knowledge at all cost, and strictly forbids seeking knowledge through unethical means. If students abide by those rules, he’s happy to provide food and lodging, and likes to help as much as he can. This help is often overbearing and annoying.

Summary

Myth is a seven-eyed spirit, ranking him among the most powerful to roam the earth. However, he rarely uses this power, never finding a need to, as he stays out of most mortal affairs and other spirits leave him alone. When his full power is brought to bear, however, he is a truly fearsome sight.

One of the oldest spirits alive, Mythias doesn’t have much to show for it when it comes to worldliness. He rarely leaves his library, having knowledge brought to him. He’s always desperate for news of the outside world, but has had very little direct effect on it, even in his 7,000 year lifespan. He remained entirely neutral during the draconic purge. A few dragons, and humans, sought refuge in his library, and one of the few times he ever had to fight in his life was to maintain the peace of library during that time.

Design

• Myth is fat, please do not draw him skinny <3 He stands about 7’ tall in his human form.

• The golden feathers that come from his hair have blue jewels encased in intricate filigree. They can glow but don’t always.

• The five spots on his head look like simple blue circles. However, they do open into eyes that match his two normal ones when he uses powerful magic.

Trivia

• Myth is exceedingly affable. He loves company, and tries to get people to stay around as long as possible when they visit. He bribes travelers with comfortable lodging, food, and warm drinks.

• While his spirit form has wings, they're not necessary for him to fly, which he does with magic, and work to balance him more than provide any kind of lift.

• He struggles to remember names. Most of the time, he addresses people as ‘dear’, ‘darling’, ‘sweetheart’, ‘love’, etc, because he genuinely cannot remember most people’s names. If Myth remembers a name, it’s because he thinks very highly, or very, very poorly of them.

• He’s a tea snob. He likes to go through lengthy tea ceremonies, and has a vast and expensive colelction of rare, aged, and expensive teas.

• Particularly vulnerable to being bribed, he can easily be convinced to look the other way for petty things or have his silence bought with gifts, particualry of nice teas. However, there are moral lines he will not cross even for the kingliest of bribes.

• As a spirit, Myth does not have to eat. He feels neutral about food and doesn't cook, but will occasionally indulge in food if it's offered and he thinks declining would cause even a minor confrontation.

• Touching the blue energy within his golden ribcage will earn someone an uncharacteristically sudden and aggressive slap. He does not like to be touched there.

• Myth's two tails are very soft and fluffy, and he's more than happy to curl up and let someone lean on him like a pillow while he takes a nap or reads over their shoulder. T

Percy

Percy has spent an extended amount of time at the library, studying history and, in many ways, Myth himself. Myth greatly enjoys his company, as Percy seemed to have endless patience for his ‘help’, and always had drama to talk about. He's constantly trying to convince Percy to stay.

Tyta

An infrequent visitor to his Library, Mythias enjoys studying the much older spirit and trying to get her to talk more in depth about the past, when the world was new. He's met with the same amount of cryptic nonsense and innocent babble as anyone else, however. This does not stop him from trying, and he spends a decent amount of time trying to decipher her nonsense.

Celendra

Celendra is one of the few permanent residents of the library. She acts as the clerk, keeping track of where books have come from, gone, how many copies there are of each, and is the overseer of all the other help in the library. She can be a bit bossy when it comes to work, and most people consider her an unpleasant fixture. Myth often tasks her with telling people to leave or giving them unpleasant news when he doesn’t want to.

Fenvalur

A stray Fey that found his way into the library and won't leave, Myth tolerates the wily fey bothering guests and stealing books because the little dragon is also superb at gathering gossip and occasionally obscure knowledge.
