Douglas Howell was born on 6th January 2004 in Whitby, England.

Douglas attended a primary school in Yorkshire.

Douglas attended a secondary school in Yorkshire before moving to South Mana and attended South Mana secondary to do his GCSEs. Around this time, Douglas started going by his middle name "Rex" because he thought it sounded more hardcore. Around this time, Douglas befriended Mesud and Oli and joined a band with them.

They were all vibing in maths class tryna discuss what they should name their band and their Teacher shouted "UHHHH!!! Boys at the back!!!!" and they all quietened down but kept giving each other looks like "oh, that is so the name." So their band is called Boys At The Back. Their first album is called Irrational Numbers or something in reference to their dogshit maths class. I'm thinking... Oli is definetly the bassist. Mesud is the vocalist and Storm is the drummer but these may switch. Storm is quite enegetic but is also very easily frightened. Mesud is much more laid back and has a very "doesnt give a shit" attitude. I forgot the word oops."

  • Rex' surname, Howell, means "Eminent/Prominent", but was picked because it sounds like the word "howl."
  • Other names considered for Mesud during development (at (22:16) 07.01.23 were: Niles, Morty, Dorian, Drake, Storm, and eventually Douglas at (18:51) 12.01.23.
  • However, at (14:28) 08.01.23 it was decided that, despite his true forename of Douglas, Storm would be kept as a nickname. At (08:42) 16.01.23, this was changed to be Rex instead.
• At (22:36) 07.01.23, it was decided that Rex's parents used to be lighthouse keepers who lived by the coast but moved to South Mana so they could all socialise with other werewolves easier
• At (14:18) 08.01.23, it was decided that Edward Bush from the old Gorse Lore was Rex's Dad, and that Cedric is Rex's younger brother too.
• It was decided at around (09:30) 16.01.23 that Rex was originally from Whitby. This town was picked specifically in reference to Dracula by Bram Stoker.
