I've loved his design since you first did him, but it's cool as hell to see his changes from August to now! I adore his glasses, and his mix of coppery tones is so nice with the sorta copper-rust teal? The neckware looking like an upside-down club is so nice, especially with the darker teal-green mixing with that yellowy-orange, it all mixes so well, he's such a cohesive look. and TAIIILLLSSS, COAT TAAAIIILLLSSSSSSSS

Basics
A driven, yet rather carefree vampire whose job as a proprietor of a casino is his passion in life. He's all about showmanship, flashy displays, and being the life of the party. He's trying his hardest to live a normal life, despite his 'condition.'
- Despite enjoying gambling, he's actually slightly above average at best—and below average at worst—because he enjoys the thrill of chance more than skill.
- He tries to embrace 'human life' as best as he can. He keeps trying food that he literally can't eat, just because he misses it.
- He was thankfully quirky as a human, therefore, his oddities to prevent detection aren't terribly out of character.
- He hopes to one day grow his casino into the best in the country—if not the world.
Born in Turin to an Italian mother and Austrian father, Gatlin grew up knowing two languages, but with an Italian focus, which became a problem once his family moved to Germany when he was 11. The once talkative boy became quiet when his thick Italian accent was constantly pointed out by classmates, making for a dull, uneventful chilhood, all the way up until late university.
Giving up on any dreams, Gatlin chooses to wait tables in an Italian restaurant, and one day catches the interest of a fellow Italian (Marius), who invites him to his weekly Poker Club. In time, the club gets him to open up and embrace his accent, becoming the quirky, loud, fun man he is today. With newfound confidence and Marius' support, he's spurred to follow his formerly thrown out dream of owning a glitzy casino, but he starts small, buying an old casino and breathing new life into it, to make some money and figure out if his goal was even possible.
The Berlino, as it was later called, ends up being a success, leading to Gatlin taking out a larger loan to build his dream resort casino: Casa del Sino. All's well for a good seven years, when he's bitten by a vampire, throwing a wrench into his social life.

Nina Kneller
A part-timer dealer who's super into the occult, always rambling on about odd theories about who's what. Her obsession puts the now-vampire on edge, but also grounds him; if he can slip by her, he can slip by anyone.
Mark Martingale
A much more mellow, down to Earth guy who finds the occult ridiculous and dumb. Has little aspirations in life in terms of jobs, but does enjoy LARPing fantasy battles with people.
Marius Asclepius
An sly, confident lawyer set to retire in a few years. Hosts a weekly Poker Club, in which they often have different themes and challenges, be it merely dress up nights or actual rule changes, like games where the goal is to cheat and get away with it. Gatlin attends his club.
- His name is based off of locations I visited during my 2022 vacation: Gatlinburg, TN & Clingmans Dome, NC. Retroactively, I made his middle name 'Laurel,' after the Laurel Falls, which we also visited.
- He has a lot of vices, but he isn't addicted to any of them. He's addicted to being social, instead, and that's how he does them. He's a social drinker, a social smoker, and a social eater, and he does them all too much, always preferring to mirror others to really feel that connection to them.
- He was in the process of losing weight when he was Turned, which has made him a little self-conscious about his weight, because now he's stuck as overweight forever. Overall, he jokes about it, and enjoys others' snide comments too, but deep down, he is frustrated. He goes between thinking his weight is sexy and being annoyed, and he wishes he at least had the option to lose it or not.
- He used to hate spicy food, but now that he can't really 'taste,' he purposefully orders super spicy food on occasion when he eats in public. He finds it fascinating that he can down it fine now.
- Potentially, the biggest thing keeping him grounded to humanity in this world (his casino and his drive to make it number one) might also lead to his loss in humanity, in order to protect it.
- He's super rich, but he doesn't spend that much money on himself. No lavish vacations, or butlers, or expensive wine (unless he's sharing it with another person). Instead, he puts most of his money back into the casino—albeit, often with frivolous things, like fancy gold statues or marble flooring. He lives in a high end—but modest—apartment instead of some lavish house/mansion.
- He has an extra living space in his casino which he uses when he doesn't feel like going home. Within is a golden coffin, all nice and padded. While he doesn't show it off to any old person given it's in his living quarters, it's purposefully very eye-catching, as to play up the fact that it is just a quirky thing, and not actual evidence he's some scary vampire. What kind of vampire would sleep in a flashy, golden coffin, huh?
- He normally sleeps in his apartment. The coffin is a backup if he ever requires extra security.
- He drives a red Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan (electric car).
