In Aspars, we hear different tales of Spirits. Therians are familiar with the Luna Nova. Humans are familiar with Spirits of Consciousness. Gijinkas are familiar with the Commanders. Pokemon are familiar with different varieties of Spirits, depending on where they come from. However, there are Spirits that the mortals aren't aware of. These Spirits are said to be dead in the world as they have lost their lives from events they are unaware of. The Spirits are often referred to as The Forgotten. There are a total of eight Spirits. The Spirits say are trapped in limbo. Neither the Harbingers of Death and Bringers of Life are capable of reaching them. It is said those Spirits are lost to the world, unable to return. At least..that's was the assumed thought until they gradually returned with new identities.

Here we have Teddy (though his true name is Theodore). Even the Spirits aren't aware of his existence as few rarely see him. The Gloomdweller Spirit is said to be descendant of Death to serve as his eye of the world above. His memories of being a God have all but faded. All he knows that the blond human he is with is someone he sees as his father and the one calls himself Death is the one he attaches himself to. The journey his parents goes on is not something that he personally cares about. For him, he is wondering who is that strange Pokemon that seems to act like he knows him.

Design

Height
3’5 feet (or 104.14 cm)
Weight
49.5 lbs (or 22.5 kg)

Appearance

In Teddy's Gijinka form, he has an average built with no muscles here. It makes sense considering the fact he is/has the body of a child. With tan skin, the male is occasionally seen with a few scratches here and there as he's often the type to get into fights. His hair is black and is shown to very curly in nature. His eyes are bright orange with an orange-red pupil. His attire consists of an orange buttoned-down shirt that partially covered his brown khakis. Tucked underneath pants are black dress shoes. Over his shirt is a black vest. Completing the outfit is a long, gray scarf that Teddy is protective over.

In Teddy's Pokemon Form, Teddy takes the form of a bipedal bear that appears to be made of smoky shadows. The area around its face resembles a helmet with two curled ears with a wispy horn between them at the top. His eyes are the same as his Gijinka form with a yellow-oval marking above them. Each arm has a small bump on the wrist. Around his neck is a fluffy mane, and his feet bear the appearance of shadows trailing it with its shredded appearance. His muzzle is the same color as his body with a black nose to complete the look.

Notes
  • Teddy will not let anyone comb his hair. He has a sensitive scalp, giving him a low tolerance to pain when his hair is comb.
  • Teddy isn't fond of wearing clothes and only wears them in his Gijinka form because Flynn forces him to. Granted, he probably shouldn't be going around naked.
    • Speaking of clothes, Teddy can make his clothes appear and disappear upon command whenever he goes into his Pokemon form.
  • When angered or in the middle of battle, the male changed into his Zenith form. In this form, his headgear, wrist bumps, and mane flare up and resemble blue and red flames. His eyes also flare up but don't change colors.
    • The blue and red become a blue and orange coloration whenever he gets tired.
  • Whenever Teddy is mimicking someone (through lurking through their shadow), his appearance is slightly altered to match them. For example, if he's mimicking Rin, the male hair (in his Gijinka form) covers his right eye and one of his eyes become golden.
  • Teddy carries around his Marshadium Z on a gauntlet. The gauntlet in question is something he occasionally wears.
  • Teddy tends to primarily be in his Pokemon form. He finds that form to be the most comfortable.
  • In his Pokemon form, Teddy is a facultative biped.
  • Teddy has pretty sharp teeth in both of his forms. Do try to avoid being bit by them.

Personality

Traits

  • Spoiled
  • Prideful
  • Energtic
  • Cocky

Likes

  • Mott. That's his Banette doll. Flynn gave him it and has cherished ever since.
  • Food. While he doesn't need it, he enjoys indulging himself with it. He's a bit of a glutton.
  • Fighting. He likes to fight and is willing to fight anyone he sees! Well except any fairy types.
  • Rin and Flynn. Those are his daddies. They may act funny, but they're good people.

Dislikes

  • Fairy types. Teddy is scared of them and think most of them (except Sif) are a bunch of meanies.
  • Lsoing. He hates losing! Anyone who beats him are nothing more than cheaters.
  • Getting yelled out. He doesn't like being yelled at. It makes him very sad and scared.
  • Bath. Keep those evil things away from him!

"As we advance in life it becomes more and more difficult, but in fighting the difficulties the inmost strength of the heart is developed." -Vincent Van Gogh

When you meet Teddy, you'll quickly notice how lively, loud, and eccentric the Spirit can be. He has a habit of yelling constantly and being overly energetic. He takes pride in being a troublemaker and embraces his rebellious, mischievous side. He is also rather short-tempered, easily taking offense from even the slightest of comments. He is very straightforward when it comes to expressing his feelings but surprisingly empathetic when it comes to the plight of others. His childish nature does make him come off as being naive and simple at times. However, those two traits are definitely not what makes up Teddy's personality. Teddy is a crafty boy who uses his skills to steal whatever he wants and cause mayhem with his pranks. It certainly helps that Teddy is quite observant, being able to pick up on things others miss and retaining information casually gathered through conversation. While he may speak like a child, he does retain the learning speed and intelligence of his other fellow Spirits.

Teddy himself does recognize his strength as a Spirit and can be quite cocky about it. It's one of the reasons why the male can be competitive when it comes to fights. He is unsatisfied with withdraws and refuses to quit until he is declared the winner. Due to his confidence, the male tends to overestimate others and believes he can never lose. Teddy holds a high opinion of himself and often brags about his abilities. His arrogance leads to him not really seeing the need for teamwork as he believes he can do anything by himself. Now Teddy can kind at times. In fact, he cares a great deal for the well-being of those he is close to.

Marshadium Z

Teddy doesn't use weapons, given how he fights. However, the male carries around a special item that he occasionally uses in battle: Marshadium Z. The Marshadium Z is one of the few Z-Crystals that exist in Aspars. What are Z-Crystals? Z-Crystals are items required to upgrade moves to Z-Moves (a powerful special type of move that is used once per battle) through the use of specialized gears that allows for one to harness their power. Teddy's Z-Crystal upgrades his Spectral Thief into the special Z-Move Soul-Stealing 7-Star Strike.

Supernatural Strength/Fighting Style

Despite his size, Teddy is one of the strongest Spirits when it comes to his physical strength. While it's certainly not to the level of his father or his aunt, taking a punch from this bear is not something you should risk. He may not be capable of lifting continents or buildings, but a punch can send you flying through a tree if you make him mad enough. The scary thing about Teddy's strength is that he can become stronger. All it takes is a few Bulk-Ups and pissing him off. Once this happens, you potentially have a Pokemon that hurt Groudon of all things. Despite this, the male is still learning how to control his strength as he could cause some severe harm if he's not careful. Not only that but being physically strong doesn't mean he has the best durability in the world. If he's not too careful, he can get seriously harmed. Teddy's method of fighting involves a mixture of brute force and aggressive. Interesting enough, Teddy has demonstrated significant coordination and dexterity in combat. All of this combined makes the male a swift physical attacker that delivers quick but heavy attacks.

Power Replication (Shadow)

Being a Marshadow, Teddy can mimic the abilities of the others through the means of hiding in their shadows. How long he has these powers depends on how long he spends in their shadow. Most often, they tend to last for a few minutes. The longer he spends in the shadow determines how strong that power becomes when he uses it. At the moment, he is limited to one ability at a time to replicate. Copying more than one power can be draining to him. Not only that, but certain abilities can drain him depending on the amount of energy needed to use them, so adding another power makes things complicated. There are abilities he is unable to replicate such as shapeshifting.

Shadow Shealth/Darkness Manipulation

Teddy can hide within the shadows of others and remain undetected from whoever's shadow he's hiding in. He uses this technique to spy on individuals without leaving behind physical evidence. It should be noted that he can get detected if he makes noises while hiding. This ability appears to be the only shadow based ability he has at the moment. Teddy is learning more about shadow based powers from his 'father': Rin. At the moment, he is trying to figure out how to use his shadow as a means to fight.

Moves and Abilities

Teddy ability is Technician. He doesn't really use the ability often during battle. Teddy knows the following moves: Spectral Thief, Drain Punch, Assurance, Bulk Up, Copycat, Ice Punch, Shadow Sneak and Poison Jab. He can learn moves besides those, but those are the ones he often uses with Spectral Thief being his signature move. Spectral Thief is something that he's trying to master.

Summary

The Nightmarcher

His name was Theodore. He was a Spirit born from Death's shadows and his determination to serve as his eyes. With Death being banished into the realm of distortion, he lacked the freedom to look at the world above. As such, he had to rely on his servants as a means to see what was going on. Theodore was a quiet and introverted Spirit that only cared about serving his master. Theodore was constantly on the move, blending into the shadows as he traveled the world. He witnessed the many events that took place in the Old World that would eventually spark the war starting between his Master and those who oppose him. Eventually, Theodore would make what was once known as [REDACTED] his home. From there, he would interact with the many Spirits that rest in this country.

He would eventually become friends with a young Spirit named Arashi. Well, if you can call a friendship. It was more like a rivalry if anything. Arashi was always the loudmouthed one. He was always trying to find ways to prove that he was better than Theodore and doing whatever it takes to spark some form of reaction in the male. Arashi had been jealous of Theodore ever since the shorter Spirit defeated him in battle during their first encounter. Theodore always found Arashi to be an annoying pest, especially whenever he would often get in the way of his mission. Despite all of this, Theodore carried a level of respect for Arashi and always felt his pain of not being considered an official God due to their purpose of existing. The more time they spent, the more they grew closer. Eventually, it wouldn't be long before the two fell in love. Granted, they never did admit that as they had their own pride and whatnot.

Now that it truly mattered in the end. Why? Theodore lost his life. How? He was caught in the crossfire of the war that was going on between his master and his father. It was a battle those Fabled (well-known) and those considered Mystics (hidden from the public). For Theodore, he was caught between the battle of Alchemist and the Yin. Unfortunately, he wasn't fast enough to avoid the beam from the Alchemist fired at him. It wasn't his fault that Yin managed to avoid at the last minute, and Theodore happened to be in the line of fire. With the power of the move amplified by the souls the Alchemist absorbed and the typing of the move, Theodore was dead on impact. While he had tried his best to avoid being apart of the war, it didn't matter in the end. The war did its job in taking his life away. The sad part is that with Life and Death being enemies as a result of the world, he couldn't be brought back.

A Spirit's death is a complicated and strange process. If Spirits aren't brought back to life immediately, they end up in the Void. No one knows where the Void is or how to access it. Hell, no one is sure what it truly is. Most Spirits argue that it's closest they get to limbo. With the nature of the Void, Spirits who find themselves in it are trapped. Those Spirits gradually lose the ability to think, feel, and understand what goes on. The memories they once had are ripped away from them. Day by day, they lose the memories of who they are in this dark place. It's a sad situation that Theodore was hoping to avoid after his master's talk about this cursed place. However, there isn't much he can do besides float there and do nothing. His memories became blank, and his identity lost.

Then he heard it.

??? heard a voice. He's not sure who that voice belonged to, but it sounded nice. It was soothing and brought a level of curiosity to ???. The voice made him aware of his location. No....his new location. He was in a blanket of darkness, but it was different. It was lighter, cramp, and solid. ??? felt his emotions come back to him in waves. That curiosity is what makes ??? bang his fist against the walls of darkness. He desired to see what was talking to him and what they looked. Through his banging, ??? eventually broke through the wall and falls. Before he can hit the ground, a pair of hands grab him and hold him. Looking to the source, he is greeted by the face of a blond human that he would call his father. The human gives his new identity.

Teddy.

Relationships

Flynn Connor

1938497?1526912550

Adopted Father

That's his dad! Teddy really cares about his pops! He can be a bit naggy sometimes, but he knows that he's doing what he can to make sure he's safe. Whenever he's upset, he usually goes to Flynn and often whines at him to take care of whatever is bothering him. Teddy can be a bit protective of Flynn as noted by how aggressive he can be, whenever anyone hurts his feelings. He doesn't appreciate anyone hurting his old man. He's a good guy!

Rin Purachina

929413?1524490051

Adopted dad

That's his other dad. Technically, Rin is also his creator too, but Teddy doesn't know that. Teddy really likes his old man and enjoys learning so much for him. He makes a very good teacher! He doesn't really appreciate it when he teases him about his size and whatnot. However, he knows it's out of love. Teddy is one of the few people that often can draw out the softer side of Rin. Then again, Rin always did have that soft side for kids so that could be the reason.

Maiko Kwon

1963114?1524062402

Companion

Teddy doesn't hate Maiko. They're one of the few fairy types that he doesn't mind being around, and they do tell nice bedtime stories. He's not really a fan of serious and stuck up (in his opinion) that Maiko can be. In his eyes, he feels Maiko should loosen up a bit more and be less of a meanie! Admittedly, Teddy does get a little spooked of Maiko whenever they use Moonblast. It brings up some bad memories for our cub.

Vivienne De Clare

1963134?1521696320

Companion

Vivi is like a weird aunt to Teddy, and he likes it. She often indulges his desire to fight by occasionally allowing him to fight her Pokemon. Hell, she even taught him the ways of using Poison Jab as a means to help him better deal with fairy types. In a way, Vivi is like Rin with the difference being that she has no problem potentially dangerous pranks that caused some serious damage. Maybe, that's why Flynn is trying to avoid Teddy learning from her.

Daizō Yamazaki

1963123?

Companion

Dai is a bit quiet for Teddy's taste, but Teddy doesn't mind him. In fact, the fact the male can become an Incineroar with a snap of his fingers makes Dai cool in Teddy's eyes. Teddy loves finding new ways of fighting through the use of training with Dai. His fighting style is something that Teddy himself is often trying to mimic in some capacity. Dai is one of the few Therians that can match Teddy in terms of his physical strength.

Eiden

2161201?1572235313

Pet

Eiden is a good Spirit. Well, can we really call Eiden a Spirit, given how they were created and how they aren't really considered a 'main God'? Teddy often enjoys making great use of Eiden's docile nature to convince them to do things that they shouldn't be doing. Eiden doesn't mind as they want to do their best to ensure Teddy is happy since they're fond of his parents. However, other than that, the two carry a pretty neutral relationship.

Rei

2370518?

Rival

Rei is nothing more than a jerk! He's always teasing Teddy and acting like he's the best Spirit around! Just being near Rei makes Teddy frustrated, especially given how the first time they fought, he lost. Every since his lost, Rei hasn't shut up about it. It's not Teddy's fault that he was sleepy when this battle occurred! Admittedly, Teddy does have a small crush on Rei. A very small crush. It's nothing more than that. He also can't help but feel that Rei seems rather familiar.
