Family: Elm (mother), Spike (mother), Birch (uncle), Oak (grandmother), Bear (grandfather)

Aspen is a squirrel kit whom was adopted by Elm and Spike when they were a newborn. They were abandoned by their biological family since they are blind in their left eye and also very sickly as a newborn.  Well… that’s what Birch says of course. Truth is, Birch killed Aspen’s biological mother and intended to kill Aspen as a newborn as well until the previous prince of the Evergreens stopped him and suggested he keep the child alive and raise them for punishment of killing the mother. Birch refused and instead gave Aspen to Elm and Spike instead (which became his biggest regret) as the both wanted a child so badly and made a cover up story. Aspen considers Rock the badger and Wood the rat to be their family as well.
