First Meeting

It starts like a lot of classic first meetings: in a bar. Teagan's never ashamed to admit that's where a lot of his first meetings were. Teagan was there with a group of people that he called friends (but none of them were ever really friends) and Ryder was there with a group of actual friends. Their friend groups just happened to cross streams and well, you know how it goes. Ryder disliked Teagan immediately, of course, because Teagan was loud, abrasive, and very, very pushy. Teagan didn't necessarily dislike Ryder, but he disliked the fact that Ryder seemed to have no interest in Teagan. They didn't go head to head about it, Ryder is too nervous of a sort, but it was an evening of Ryder ignoring Teagan and Teagan trying to ignore Ryder in such a way that he would understand he was attempting to get noticed.

Relationship Dynamic

When anyone says that Teagan and Ryder's relationship is about being better, they natural assume it's about Teagan becoming better. They aren't wrong - thanks to Ryder's dedication, Teagan has become a better person, more open to connection. But Ryder would be the first to point out that Teagan all ready had the skills and personality to be a genuinely warm and good person; no matter what Ryder did, if Teagan was bad, he wouldn't just magically become good. Equally, Ryder became a better person because of Teagan - while he wasn't necessarily "bad", he came to grow under the love, feeling supported and like he would always have a safety net and that he was listened to. The pair tends to grow with each other and there's a fair amount of fussing that goes into their relationship. Neither likes to be without the other for long periods of time.
