Physical Description
Thin athletic build, hair has turned light blue due to exposure to various toxins, cybernetic black eyes, pale skin. Eyebrows are straight and long (no bean brows). He's typically seen wearing a white mask and white coat. He is clean shaven and features are sharp and intense. High cheek bones and cutting thin brows.
Mental + Emotional
Unstable; he connects best with individuals who understand the medical/scientific fields; he's known to be largely sympathetic to others who seek "progress" and typically cold toward anyone else. He's prone to making impulsive decisions, but tries very hard to combat this, knowing it could be his downfall. He can also be quite confrontational and isn't afraid to throw hands. He is chaotic science.
Speech
Speaks English well; has a German accent. Voice is typically hoarse and irritated.
Powers
Alongside his intellect, Eckstein is a capable fighter and very fit for his age. He takes very good care of himself physically, and his strength is more than the average man's thanks to some minor muscle enhancement fibers throughout his body; some had to be replaced due to radiation damage. He can also see very well in the dark, to the point where bright sunlight forces him to wear special lenses during the day. His black eyes come from cybernetic implants, allowing him to see as he was nearly blinded as result of radiation damage as well. All of these cybernetics were made and implanted by himself.
Relationships
Ethan L. Warren- dear friend and partner in scientific progress. They were very close before they parted. Eckstein still fondly remembers him, though it has been years and Ethan is thought to be dead by now.
Dr. Jermaine Wildrose- best friend; though they just recently met each other, Eckstein hasn't had a closer friend in quite a long time.
History
Viktor was born in Stuttgart, Germany to very average middle class parents. He went through college and gained his PHD in medical science. He made an exceptional example of himself as a doctor after opening his own clinic. He even got married and things seemed alright. But it was boring to him. He needed something more. Still as a young man, he joined the German armed forces and worked on various government experiments. Soon after this, he divorced his wife, settling on the fact that he didn't have room for romance, and that it would be unfair to keep her from an otherwise pleasant life.
Viktor had a hand in aiding the A.I. revolution that nearly destroyed the Sons of the Patriots. Again unsatisfied with the tasks at hand, Viktor sought greater achievements in his own personal work. He left the military in pursuit of creating ingenious cybernetics that would make or break civilization and war as we know it. He was successful. However, he willingly destroyed a lot of his work when he learned that a cyborg named Vamp, was after it for whatever reason. Viktor disappeared, completely off the radar for years. Then reemerged with a monopoly on cybernetic weaponry in the German underground. He had successfully built a human cyborg; now many times over. This earned him the names Doktor Frankenstein and The Heretic from his colleagues for his blatant disregard for "god's creation." The first human cyborg ever created was done so by Doktor Eckstein's design.
Later on, The Patriots caught wind of Viktor's dealings with their enemy under another name and aimed to take him down. But a bigger catastrophe got in the way, causing the Big Shell Incident, and Viktor fell off the map once again. Around this time, he met Ethan L. Warren and quickly befriended him. They worked totally undisturbed for awhile before a rallying militia ruined it. He recently resurfaced, joining the newly founded Diamond Dogs, who strive for a divergent future. Unbeknownst to them, their former enemy is in their midst. But Eckstein has since befriended several of the Diamond Dogs and become attached to Jetstream Sam as well as a rogue biologist from the Station Maestro, Dr. Wildrose.
Beliefs
He isn't sure exactly what god or gods exist or don't exist. As there is no factual evidence to prove them. However, he does believe that man's spirit or "strong feelings" can be imprinted on time and space and leave a residue: therefore, ghosts. Something Ethan relentlessly teased him over.
Daily Life
Some would say Eckstein is too absorbed with his work, but he would prefer to think of his work as his favorite pastime, and also his reason for living. However, he does enjoy a nice chat and cup of coffee from time to time. Some quick facts about him include: he suffers from asthma; frequently loses inhalers. Likes to sit outside when the moon is full; says the soft light is calming. Doesn't like to be touched. Prefers the company of very few people, but doesn't like to be alone. Vegetarian; no particular fondness for animals but just doesn't like meat. Has an IQ of 180; 20 more than famous mathematician Albert Einstein.
Trivia
Eckstein's approach to scientific and medical progress has been met with a lot of criticism. His methods are more often chaotic and risky, rather than sympathetic or careful. He believes that sometimes cruelty is necessary, and hasn't excluded himself from the same values he puts his opponents and allies up to. He has suffered at the hands of his own creations just as his patients have.
Neither Eckstein's appearance nor personality bring any comfort to those who meet him. He can be eerily quiet, lost in thought; his eyes a deep black abyss, set beneath a mess of pale blue hair; both a product of odd chemical reactions and prolonged exposure to something unknown to anyone but Eckstein himself.
