He rarely has time to partake in turf wars, but he'd be happy to join your lobby, despite his terrible skill level.

PERSONALITY

Cyrus is overall a ball of sunshine. It’s hard to ruin his mood or get him down, and he’s great at cheering up those around him. He can be a bit much for some people due to his energy, but he’s very supportive and loves everyone. His ADHD leads him to be a bit scatterbrained at times, but even though it’s a burden to others, he has no problem with it. He tends to put others before himself since seeing others smile always improves his mood, which is why he prefers to be around people. He loves physical contact and always sleeps with a weighted blanket whenever he has the bed to himself.

BACKSTORY

Cyrus previously lived in Inkopolis and until middle school, went to a private elementary school thanks to his dad’s input. He was a rich CEO who prioritized his coworker’s ideas, and since their sons were enrolled in similar places, he copied them. Cyrus assumed it would only be elementary school and was greatly disappointed when he realized he’d have to deal with the rest of K-12.

So, he started living by his own rules and was eventually expelled for leaving school grounds unauthorized, refusing to cut his hair, and destroying his school uniform. He had always been a rebellious punk kid (making him perfect for Annaki) and was finally able to be himself after switching schools. Cyrus didn’t appear as the rebellious type, but between his parents’ high expectations despite them rarely being in his life, the personality grew.

He lived in a huge house but his parents both had high end jobs and either came home late or were on business trips. They often missed birthdays or other planned events that they “promised” Cyrus they’d be there for. The Inkling had no choice but to become independent and while his father wasn’t pleased that his son wouldn’t carry on his business, Cyrus began modelling in his last year of high school.

Seeing that Splatsville was the city of chaos and that many Inklings were flocking there, he was eventually transferred there by his agent. He lives in a penthouse but hates seclusion and doesn’t spend much time inside.

He’s one of the few models out there who loves being spotted by his fans and hanging out with them. He’ll happily join them for lunch or turf wars. Aside from his few friends back in grade school, he always felt a bit alone thanks to his parent’s absence. He loves any sort of attention, but by being a model, he still feels separated from most of society as he’s no longer your average everyday person.

RADIAN GORBUSCHA childhood best friend

Cyrus attended middle and high school with Radian and knows all his secrets, and while Radian didn’t admit to it, they were best friends. Radian would often visit Cyrus after school since his parents frequently left him alone, or sometimes Cyrus would visit him instead. The two would have sleepovers and indulge in their hobbies together, and while Radian was closed off, he was at least comfortable around Cyrus. He knew he was Radian’s only friend, and both of them were lonely, so they were always close…and then Radian’s parents died in a car accident.

Radian refused to talk about it and never left the house until the police eventually came to get him. He was in denial and at a loss as to what to do. Cyrus repeatedly tried to comfort him, and his parents insisted he stay with them, but Radian never budged. Eventually, Radian started skipping school and stopped talking to Cyrus. And not long after their deaths, Radian tracked down the assailant and murdered the classmate. He had already been sent to an orphanage, and agents had begun cleaning out his house. Cyrus tried to help the best he could, but the only time he felt like something went right was during the funeral.

Radian didn’t talk to a single person during the entire event, but as his parents’ casket was lowered into the ground, Cyrus stood beside him and held his hand. And he never let go. The two stood there for at least an hour after the event had ended, but Cyrus didn’t pull away until Radian made the first move.

Though no words were exchanged, Radian knew just by Cyrus’ devotion to him that he loved him. He always relied on his parent's love since his peers were weary of him, but even if they were gone, he still had one person left. Despite this, Cyrus never saw Radian after that day. He dropped out of school and ran from the orphanage, and no one ever saw him again.

While Cyrus still worked towards his future, he never stopped looking for his best friend. Almost a decade after his absence, Cyrus moved to Splatsville. On his way to a shoot, while he didn’t recognize him, he gave money to Radian, who was begging on the side of the road. However, since he was in the car at a stoplight, there wasn’t much he could do, and he couldn’t catch a good glimpse of Rad’s face given that he was half-conscious thanks to the semi-freezing weather.

On a free day, Cyrus roamed the plaza by the battle pot, asking passersby if they had seen anyone who resembled Radian. To his luck, he ran into Ravi, who claimed they were friends and that the easiest way to find him was through Salmon Runs. They exchanged info, and on Cyrus’ off days he would search for his friend again, frankly just so he would have something occupy himself. He kept in touch with Ravi and eventually befriended his crew.

One evening on his way back home, Cyrus witnessed a fight in a nearby alley and being nosy, followed the sound. And, well, he found Radian blind-drunk, cowering on the ground next to a pile of orangish-green ink. He had his blaster with him and what Cyrus didn’t know was that Radian had just killed a third person, this one of which who had been sexually harassing him.

Despite his new look, Cyrus instantly recognized his old friend, and though Radian freaked out at someone else who came at him, he was able to calm him down. Cyrus took Radian back to his flat, helped him shower, get a clean change of clothes, a full meal, and once he had finally sobered up, the two reconnected. It had been years since Radian had truly talked about his past, and it was nice to get it off his chest to someone who already understood.

After learning that Radian had been homeless all these years, he convinced him to stay at his place for as long as he wanted. Cyrus had always wanted a roommate, and his childhood friend was the perfect fit.
