Ol' Scratch

It's hard to get a good look at Ol' Scratch's face, conveniently blocked or just a little too far away to make specifics, most people who talk to him who talk to him only catch quick glimpses of light reflecting off his metal capped teeth. Those who he decides to give the privilege of viewing him in full give wildly varying descriptions of his face. The only consistency is that he's good-looking...in a sense. Handsome in the same way one would describe an animal. Charming, but said in a disparaging way. There is something uncomfortably inhuman about him and people can't quite put a finger on what exactly that something is.

The clothes that he wears are always the same style. Clean, neat, and expensive. Like a rich man playing laborer, his clothes are those of a working man, but are starch white and decorated to the point of being useless. It's a laughable outfit that becomes unnerving once the realization hits that he showed up in the middle of the night with no horse, and the nearest town is miles away.

Chatter than most devils and one of the few devils that will actively refer to itself as being one. Ol'Scratch will sometimes just show up to talk for a while before disappearing again. No real goal past getting a feel for those that wander The West. An amicable charmer, but a liar through and through. His kind words and companionship mean nothing. He is a devil after all.

xOl'Scratch mainly targets Strangers and holy men. He rarely makes straight forward deals, instead preferring to ensnare people by getting them to accidentally agree to something he says or by having them owe him due to accepting a gift. The seldom few witches he makes are all crafted with intent of them burning out fast in a horrible show of catastrophy. He doesn't bother with the long term waiting, strategy games some other devils do with their witches of moving them around for years, hoping that they'll have the right person in the right place. Instead, he wants is a perfectly selected candidate and a second of brilliant violence. This is why he goes after Strangers and holy men, he takes a figure who is trusted and renowned in their community, and uses them to destroy it and wrecking the areas ability to deal with supernatural problems. A two-for-one deal.
