ho is this mysterious wizard? Many report spotting a cloaked form lurking around in the shadows. The telltale sign that they may be near you is the soft clack clack clack of their wooden shoes. If you hear that, it might already be too late for you!

Ciana, also known as the Frost Witch, is a myth spread by wizards on Prodigy Islands. Much of their legacy lies upon rumors and stories spread by wizards, most of whom cannot even agree on what they look like. Sometimes people claim they wear a large hat while others claim they were a veil; some claim they carry a long staff while others report having seen them cast spells with their bare hands. However, despite all the discrepancies between claims, one detail stays consistent: their fox max. Still, they remained simply as a tale among wizardkind... until the elemental crystals shattered.

I. Personality

nabel.png

ot much can be concluded about Ciandra's personality other than the fact that they are relatively calm. Those who had known them when they were a student would describe them as softspoken and intelligent. They were not particularly invested in displays of power or fighting, often spending time in the library or studying the monsters around the island.

If there is anything truly defining about Ciandra, it's their curiosity. They loved learning new information and experiencing exciting new events, being willing to try anything once. Professors at the Academy were impressed with their devotion to magic and learning, encouraging them to continue on this path to greatness. And Ciandra certainly did have those plans already... when that curiosity transformed into something much more twisted.

II. History

nabel.png

ianda is ambiguous in ways and intent. As a student, they were constantly asking questions and seeking out knowledge -- learning from every teacher, reading every book, mastering every spell -- until there was nothing left to learn. When questioned their reason for such a relentless pursuit of knowledge, they answered with a simple word: "power."

Of course, Ciandra seemingly did nothing with this power. They did not wish to become a teacher or a Council member, or even use their abilities for any life improvements. They simply continued to obtain more and more knowledge to fill their seemingly endless hunger for unsubstantiated power. This finally culminated into ultimate boredom once Ciandra has mastered everything, and they realized there was nothing left for them at the Academy or even in higher jobs. And a wizard as powerful as them is the most dangerous when they are bored...

Discovery of Shadow

Not many wizards are aware of the first time the Puppet Master attempted to steal the crystals, though Ciandra was there to witness it happen. The Puppet Master was promptly shooed away by the Wardens, but that was enough for Ciandra to realize there is more than just the six elements taught in the Academy, and they began to take interest in studying Shadow.

Their descent into darkness began with finding hidden spellbooks for Shadow spells, and they conducted their first test with the monsters residing on the now Lost Islands. By mixing their Ice magic with Shadow, they were able to control a few Ice monsters and successfully take down a wizard. From then on, they completely broke off from the academy, dedicating themself to studying Shadow magic and discovering new ways to use spells with this new forbidden element.

Current story

Years pass and the Puppet Master attempts his stunt again, this time making sure to trap the Wardens first. However, his plan goes awry when the keystones shatter and scatter around the islands, and Ciandra steps in at this stage with interest. They offered to collaborate with the Puppet Master and help track the progress of searching wizards with hopes they will also be able to access the gems.

This is when they encounter two wizards, Kimberly and Kyle, trekking into Shiverchill Mountains to search for the Ice gem. With young wizards right in their domain, things are just about to get interesting.

III. Combat + Abilities

Ciandra's style of battle very much consists of every element imaginable at their disposal due to their proficiency in all domains, with Ice and Shadow as their specialty. They overwhelm their opponents with attacks, debuffing them and healing themselves whenever given the chance. They do have the power to completely destroy opponents with a single move, but they enjoy playing with their food.
Falling Star Smash

Summons the power of stars to strike a single enemy; Gain 1 MP.

One of the simplest attacks a wizard can cast. Even someone like Ciandra needs the basics sometimes.

Glacial Shield

Protects from attacks and heals; 2 MP

This spell has been lost to time, but Ciandra managed to learn it. Their healing spells are an important aspect to lasting long in battles.

Snow Queen's Fountain

Catches opponent in a swirl of water which then freezes; 4 MP

Obtained by combining Ice with the lost move Angel's Fountain. Hard to avoid on the opponent's end, unless they have Fire or Plant magic.

Spike Strike

Sends a line of shadow spikes to track and hit opponent; 4 MP

Can be used as AOE damage if desired, but works best on a single target.

Zero

Traps opponents in a bubble of light, dealing periodic damage; 8 MP

This attack is almost impossible to avoid, spanning a radius of fifteen feet. Opponents can only break out of the bubble with continuous attacks.

Void

Traps opponents in a dome of shadow; 10 MP

Players who attempt to attack the shadow borders will reflect the damage onto themselves. The only way to leave is through alternating attack and healing or teleportation.

IV. Relationships

The Puppet MasterCollaborators

image.png

Ciandra does not particularly care about the Puppet Master's goals or anything about spreading Shadows. However, if working with him will help them gain more power, they will tolerate him.

Mira ShadeEnemies

latest.png

Having Shadow magic and using it to build a silly tower? Ridiculous! Ciandra considers Mira's Dark Tower as a waste of space and time when Mira has so much more potential.

Kimberly DreamcasterEnemies

unknown.png

Ciandra finds Kimberly's similar pursuit of knowledge and power to be quite interesting. They mess with her psyche by telling her that if she pushed herself a little harder, she can become just like them. Kimberly doesn't seem to like this very much, but really, what does she know?

Kyle FlametorchEnemies

unknown.png

Near the end of their quest, Kyle discovers that Ciandra was the one who was experimenting with Shadow magic on creatures in the far-off islands, thus being the one responsible for the monster attack that killed Kyle's brother. Though Kyle is absolutely furious with Ciandra, they take great interest in the young wizard, noting his natural talent for spellcasting. Perhaps they can toy around with him a little...
