About 
Ash was born and raised in Inkopolis as an only child. Her father is a very successful doctor, and was quite overbearing in the fact he expected him to follow in his footsteps. When he was young, he tried his best to do so, giving up on social groups and activities in the name of homework and studying. 

As a teen she grew rebellious against her father and studying anything medical, which caused their relationship to grow tense. She would sneak out to participate in Turf Wars, and even took up a job at Grizzco to fund her new interests, against his wishes. When she noticed a mysterious woman, who she later found out was Marie from the Squid Sisters (which she didn’t know because watching TV and listening to the Radio was restricted in her house), and followed her down a manhole she became Agent 4 and helped Marie find her cousin, Callie.

Completing such dangerous missions and coming out on top gave him the confidence to confront his father and share his true feelings. His honesty and will to follow a different career, one in Weapon Engineering as he became fascinated with them during his many adventures, convinced his father, who gave him permission to study what he liked. Their relationship is slowly healing, and Ash is much happier now that he’s doing what he likes without having to fight for it. 

Four has a resting bitch face, which makes it a shock to find out she is actually a very friendly goofball. She is socially stunted due to not having any friends growing up, which is the cause of her neutral expression being a frown and not having much knowledge of conversation-manners. She is very chatty, and even quite needy, though she gets shy about it.

Four is very close with most of his fellow agents. Agent 8 is his former roommate and he was responsible for showing her around Inkopolis, the two still meet up and hang out, even participating in Turf Wars together. Four and Three have a sibling-esc relationship, with Four being the annoying younger sibling who likes to get on their nerves through teasing and chatting their ears off, lucky for him Three is very patient. The only agent he isn’t as close with is Agent 3, who he hasn’t formally met yet outside of spamming them in the NSS group chat.

She is the closest with Marie, looking up to her like a parental figure. She has accidentally called her ‘Mom’ before, much to Four’s embarrassment and Callie’s amusement. She is friendly with Callie and Craig, though the latter to a lesser extent.

As of Calamity Chorus she has been with the NSS for 7 years. Though he took a few years break for his career path, and isn't very active due to working and studying.

Appearance
Four is a shorter inkling (a bit smaller than Three) with light freckled skin and yellow eyes. They have short tentacles, with the ends cut roughly to make them look 'spikey'. Their hair is always yellow, a bright shade while with the NSS and a very pastel/almost white shade casually. Their outfit is usually sporty, like tank tops and shorts covered by oversized jackets. They always wear fingerless gloves and sneakers, and almost never wear any form of hat.

As of Calamity Chorus
They look pretty much exactly the same, just with some scars on their hands and one on their cheek. They still love to wear their oversized jackets and their fingerless gloves, but now they’re commonly seen in long-sleeved clothing with handy items in their many pockets.
