Profile
Jack Jones
Semi well known among the folk, Jack is a travelling companion, offering lone survivors their company.
As a noncorporeal being (what we in the business would call a ghost) Jack can't do as much to help as they wish they could. All they have to offer people is a little bit of conversation, but in a barren wasteland with a dying population, for most that's good enough.
Jack's been around since day zero, and knows their fair share of what's what. Zombie hotspots? Unlooted buildings? Unoccupied hideouts? They're happy to help.
Before death Jack wasn't particularly somebody they liked, just a regular successful business joe providing a roof for their family, because that's what they were taught to do. Jack was never perfectly comfortable with that, and they couldn't ever figure out why. There's just something so uneasy about the idea of having a role you have to persue, a thing you have to do. It's not an unhappy life, far from it, but was it ever what they really wanted?
Jack died in a plane crash caused by the nuke while visiting the country with their wife and kids, and reemerged as a ghost almost instantly. Their family survived, but they were separated. Several months passed, and by the time they found them it was too late. The Bomber had found them first.
Jack, being undead too and able to understand zombie speak, soon realized that Bomber (merely a child at the time they met) was not what he was made out to be. He was a traumatized, lost teenager; controlled by bloodlust and tormented by his own existence.
Two trapped souls. One living in fear and scared of himself, the other with a built-in desire to help people. Jack decided to stick by him. They live together in Bomber's base and have for a long time now... Although most of the time Jack's out helping the survivors. It's nice to come home and have someone who can relate to all the challenges of being undead.
They do what they can to help, calming Bomber down when he's startled, giving him someone to talk to, but there's only so much Jack is capable of. They're desperate to see Bomber heal, but they don't have their hopes too high.
Being around so long, Jack has collected their fair share of stories from across the place, most are dark, but they've got some funny ones too. This makes them absolutely brilliant for conversation, good thing that's their main gig.
