Profile

Gonna revamp this guy to make her more inline with her main profile and characterization. Until this disclaimer is gone and she's reworked, consider the information below to be obsolete.

Quick ideas for revamp:

  • Looks more like a "natural" human (hazel eyes, brown hair, etc.) to try and make divers feel more comfortable coming to her. She still won't hide the fact she's a diel, though; keeps ball joints and would also have her barcode visible.
  • Has an interest in studying divers and went to the medical department as she'd be able to study humans for her work. She often toes the line of acceptable as she'll ask patients if she can take samples from them and such, but doesn't cross the boundary if she's given a firm no.
  • Still weird. Retains her weird odor and such. She wants to understand humans but does not care to become one.

Whisk

Shell Repair Specialist

ID No. : 392 381 578
Designation : Diel
Division : Medical
Rank : Twilight
  • Shows a superiority complex regarding Divers. While she'll be defiant about work, she's proven capable of working with them with little to no incident.
  • Her Wake, Transferring Life, Whisker to Whisker, heals minor injuries through regenerating the damaged cells at a accelerated rate.
  • Learned how to repair Diel shells to make it a point of what she prefers working with.
  • Has not acclimated to expected human behavior and shows no desire to.
  • Her odd odor has been investigated and is not a health risk. Complaints regarding this will no longer be handled by her supervisor.
  • Keep away from Tachibana Mika.

Personality

Snarky Stubborn Staunch

While it's easy to assume it's the company's treatment of Diels that got Whisk to value her own above all else, make no mistake. She's been very vocal about her feelings just days after she started working at Alcyon. She's got a short fuse though it's hard to tell if she's angry by words alone. Her go-to demeanor is rather crass and she isn't afraid to be very blunt. This ill-mannered behavior is exemplified when she's interacting with a patient as she prattles on about how horribly reckless they are.

What makes Whisk a valuable employee is her sheer tenacity and determination to see things through to the end. If she says she'll accomplish something, she'll do it— or pass out trying. Giving her harder missions, such as graver injuries to deal with, is often encouraged due to this. Proposing tasks as more of a challenge seems to boost this even further, though is not necessary.

Interestingly enough, Whisk's enjoyment of her job is why she even bothers to stick around. She isn't exactly nice to people but a lot of what she'll say regarding someone's recklessness and concern for them is an aggressive consideration. She'll be very assertive about others' mistakes but fret over them until she's sure they're in tip-top shape.

Background

What lured Whisk to working for Alcyon was a misguided idealization of humans. Before joining, she had been fascinated by them. They seemed so intriguing to her, always out of her reach because she was naturally their foe rather than a friend. But learning of the cooporation made her realize it wasn't so far out of her reach. All she had to do was join.

At first, things were very much interesting. She learned of fascinating concepts and how humans would interact with one another. But, as a Diel, she started to realize that she could never be like the other humans. They'd always know she wasn't like them even if she hid her barcode. After all, while she looked the part, she had to cover her joints and put on her best "How do you do, fellow humans?" impression.

This led Whisk to the idea that humans were simply... not at all cool. They simply existed. They weren't some unusual, almost alien-like presence. All of them quickly became stale. She didn't care for ideas like having a deeper relationship with them, nor did she want to care about being one of them.

Her disappointment with her whimsical thoughts of humanity is what leads her to be so vocal about her disdain for humans. Though this disappointment is quite superficial; she'll keep up banter with Divers that'll entertain her and, despite the initial fuss she always puts up, she'll never refuse healing an injured Diver.

Public Relations

Peers and superiors that saw Whisk in her first few weeks at Alcyon Corporation would know very well how she originally acted. However, with her haughty attitude, their claims wouldn't be believed. And, truthfully, no one cares enough about making her even more spiteful towards Divers by divulging this secret.

Those that still speculate her motivations for joining chalk it up to her wanting to be a nuisance. There's not enough malice in her to even consider that she'd be a spy or traitor. After all, she seems to enjoy her division's duties, no matter how much she spouts about how humans are the worst.

Tachibana Mika

Keep apart if possible Enemies Rivals?

Met in an assignment where she had to take care of a few scrapes. Their feelings towards one another quickly gave way to hatred as Whisk tried to mess with Mika's drip pods.

They often go back and forth whenever they cross paths, which can lead to very explosive arguments. Onlookers describe their confrontations as closer to an aggressive rivalry as opposed to deep-seated hatred.

Regardless of their true relationship, it's strongly advised that they are kept away from one another unless absolutely necessary.

Does not make friends easily. Or she'd insist you're her friend if you can tolerate her for an hour. That's the true test.

Identifying Features

Long Whiskers Stark White Hair Ball Joints

Whisk's shell takes on the appearance of a short woman with pale pinkish skin. She has white hair that's very messy and always full of tangles. She makes no attempts to hide that she is a Diel and often emphasizes that fact— her hair is pulled back to show a barcode on her forhead, her vent manifests in axolotl-like feelers and tail, and she'll behave in an eccentric manner especially around Divers.

Physical:

  • Eyes are black with a pink pupil.
  • Designated color is #E57A7E. This is the same color as her whiskers and fins.
  • Her bangs cover her eyes when not pulled back.
  • Never wears her coat properly. It's usually draped around her shoulders.
  • Keeps her ID clipped to her pants.

Demeanor:

  • Ill-mannered and crude. Her smirking is a sign that she's on a roll and feeling good about herself.
  • When overexerted, she becomes very lethargic and subdued.

Style:

  • She doesn't seem to have outfits outside of work clothes. Oddly enough, she'll stick to regulation with little to no deviation.

Combat Profile

Whisk has a below-average offensive capability and lacks enough combat proficiency for self-defense. While this may appear to be a liability, her wake is a powerful tool when it comes to healing the injured. She's an ideal medic, though her repulsion for humans and constant vent usage provides unique challenges.

Mist Control Proficiency

Detection:

Not achieved 1 2 3 4 5

Physical Boosting:

Not achieved 1 2 3 4 5

Attacks:

Not achieved 1 2 3 4 5

Whisk has below average mist control proficiency for a Diel. She's capable of all the basics but has no interest in training further. Deploying her as an on-field medic is ill-advised as she'd require a member of either the Offense or Defense Divisions to accompany her.

Not Installed Vent Eject

Time Limit in Reality:

< 1 minute 1-5 minutes 5-10 minutes 10-10 minutes Other: Multiple hours

Vent Slots:

Cheek Whiskers (x4) Forehead Whiskers (x2) Spinal Fin (x1) Tail (x1)

Whisk highly values the fact she's a Diel and emphasizes this with maintaining her vent for a prolonged period of time. She'll use it to her full extent even in situations that do not call for it, treating it as if it were purely cosmetical. Due to her frequent usage, she's managed to train herself to be able to use her vent for an upwards of four hours. The results of her focus on her vent are speculative at best, as she has little to no reason to utilize it while not performing her job.

With prolonged usage, Whisk becomes lethargic and has trouble focusing on her job. A warning sign of her capabilities is if only her facial vent is active. Be advised to seek another Medical Division member in this circumstance.

Whisk appears to have no reservations about letting her vent dissipate in the audience of exclusively other Diels. As such, it's advised to find ways to keep her around Diels unless her vent is necessary.

Unique Ability

Not achieved Mare Wake

Mantle ( Shift-type / Domain-type ) Tier 2

Transferring Life, Whisker to Whisker: Whisk's ability lets her heal surface-level injuries. This power is based on regenerating lost cells and mending them together, meaning it can only benefit the organic flesh of Divers. As expected, this causes conflict with Whisk's motives and she refuses to use this unless she is assigned to care for a Diver.

Whisk is unable to perform Tier 2. While she could train to try and achieve it, she exerts too much energy on a daily basis to train. When asked about it, she makes up the excuse that she's already so strong that she doesn't need it.

Techniques:

  • Accelerated Regeneration, Total Regrowth: As a demon, her form is very much axolotl-like in nature right down to the ability to regenerate missing limbs. Whisk is able to use this ability in tandem with Transferring Life, Whisker to Whisker to attempt to heal major injuries.
  • Patchwork Process, All Hand-Made: Whisk has started to figure out a way to regenerate parts of inorganic matter. This, when mastered, should be able to heal Diel shells similarly to how Transferring Life, Whisker to Whisker heals Divers. It's a highly taxing ability as she's yet to properly heal a Diel's shell, struggling to repair even the smallest of dents. Until she gets to a point where she can use the ability by itself, Whisk often keeps a Diel-oriented medkit around just in case.

Miscellaneous

  • Though it could be easier to have her Diel Shell upgraded to allow more inhuman features, she refuses. Whisk believes that having a human do something for her that she could naturally do, being her vent, is a stupid idea.
  • Her lack of professionalism has gotten her in trouble before and she sees that as her being on Alcyon's hitlist. However, Whisk fails to realize that HR doesn't care about what she does as long as she isn't causing more trouble than she's worth.
  • Overexertion leads to her being lethargic. Continuing to exert herself while in this exhausted state leads to delirium and risk for blacking out.
  • Never uses cuss words. She thinks it's stupid that such words have a greater weight to people, so she makes it a point to insult you using words that don't have so much of a punch.
  • Boiling her down to her basics, Whisk falls under a "tsundere" trope but for her job. Pretty loserish of her, tbh.

Notes

A junior employee with an ego comparable to a fictional character. Though haughty, her persistence and abilities are valuable enough in her division to overlook some of her questionable behavior.
