Backstory
Hibiki is part of what remains after a certain human was experimented on. The other part, an unintended consequence, is Virus, who has sworn to protect Hibiki despite their own limitations. Hibiki is not aware of any of this, while Virus is but has been programmed to stay silent. Because of the link between the two, they are never far apart. Virus uses this to their advantage to lead Hibiki wherever they want to go while Hibiki - who is, as mentioned, unaware of the situation - thinks they decided this themselves.
Hibiki, in general, struggles with strong emotions, unsure of how to handle them. Betrayal especially is a difficult one to swallow.

Virus
Virus is Hibiki's sibling. They have vague memories of spending their first weeks alive with Virus and their father, and even now, Virus seems to pop out of nowhere to see them again.
Zyles
Zyles is someone that is safe. Hibiki can trust them. Whenever Hibiki goes near them, they remember metal tables and bright lights and the smell of chlorine. It is familiar.
Kyo
Who is Kyo? Hibiki doesn't know Kyo. Why do you ask?
