Gigan and his twin brother, Anzu had been raised in the Abaron clan ever since they were born. Their clan was assaulted by unknown aggressors when their mother and youngest were abroad. There was many casualties but both of them and their father survived.
After going into hiding with what remained of his family, Gigan began to develop a coping mechanism to deal with his trauma. He theorized that the attack was related to his mother's departure from America. Although none of these were true, it was what Gigan believed in. He plotted to get revenge one day when he became older, hiding it from Anzu as he respected his brother's wishes.
Trivia: He has heterochromia, the other eye being purple, a trait he inherited from his mother, similar to his twin.
