Ashley feels most comfortable at home, messing with their miniature greenhouse they have in their backyard. Theyre a huge botany nerd, especially for carnivorous plants and will talk for ages about them but seems to have a bit of a pretentious attitude about liking them since other people dont Get WHY theyre cool. Overall Ashley easily comes across as "no fun" and could be considered the "mom" of a group and over time others have begun to see them as the Responsible Friend which they dont know how to explain stresses them out immensely. They formed a tiiiiny bit of an ego but in the way where it makes them anxious because they feel their judgement calls and opinions hold more weight than others and the pressure of that can get to them at times and make them avoidant of their friends, and then guilty because theyre convinced their friends cannot function without them.

Truthfully Ashley a good judge of character but is incredibly biased which skews their perception of others, which tracks for being 16 lmfao. Theyre easily influenced by their own suspicion or emotions and will unintentionally cherrypick information that backs up their kneejerk assumptions about others, justifying their Gut Feelings (but sometimes they are right actually.) They currently are supporting their mother in her attempt to leave their father, which has been immensely stressful on them but they feel unable to talk about it with anyone, because THEYRE supposed to be able to handle it and have the answers. They outwardly come across as tired and a bit dry but NOT monotone or emotionless, theyre very expressive almost comically so. 

Relationships:
Reese- Ashleys best friend since middleschool, Reese doesnt put the same sort of pressure on them that their other friends can do (even if unintentionally) and doesnt judge Ashley for showing "uglier"or even childish emotions. Reese never looks at them differently which is a huge comfort, and Ashley really respects Reese for following their passions and being honest about what they want in life and taking chances Ashley never would. But also Ashley is fiercely protective of them because of their lack of experience in the world and doesnt want to see them taken advantage of or hurt. As much as they love Reese they do get annoyed with them and frustrated at times when they dont seem to take anything seriously(in Ashleys eyes at least). Ashley spends most of their time not at home at Reese's house, first as a way to escape their home problems and then later because they dont trust Tilly.

Tilly- That Slimy Motherfucker. Ashley cannot STAND them. They do not get what Reese sees in the bastard. Ashley could immediately tell the weirdo was up to no good and was clearly planning on taking advantage of Reese's offer of a place to stay and whatever they want to eat. Ashley is openly suspicious and antagonistic to Tilly, but Tilly is always friendly or even playfully teasing which pisses Ashley off even more. Honestly nearly everything they do makes Ashley roll their eyes or glare. As much as they hate Tilly, Ashley does occasionally find themself talking about things they wouldnt to someone they actually care about.. because well. its Tilly. who gives a shit if it bothers them to hear about Ashleys home life (or so they tell themself).

Eliot- Ashleys other close friend, Eliot is Different than their other friends where helping him out feels like nice rather than stressful.. because Eliot actually listens to Ashley without joking about it but still makes an attempt to watch out for himself too or help the group plan or stay on track. Which is. Nice. He also always thanks Ashley for their help and says he appreciates them which has led Ashley to develop a rather strong crush on him. They have tried quite a bit (including changing their hairstyle to something they thought he would like more) to get his attention more but so far nothings really worked, they do feel kind of dejected about it at times.

Klaus- Part of their friend group and honestly someone Ashley feels a quiet but intense jealousy towards. They kind of have found reasons to dislike him because of their jealousy and can be kind of passive aggressive to him but mostly tries to avoid him. Eliot spends the most time with Klaus, the two are childhood friends and Klaus actually lives with Eliot due to his complex family situation, which Ashley wants to be sympathetic about but cant help but just sort of seethe sometimes. Klaus is a very anxious person which frustrates Ashley as hes both sensitive and indecisive and his anxiety can make Ashley feel anxious too.

Liza, Sawyer, and Jon- They arent as close with these three since theyre more Klaus's friends but honestly likes them well enough, Liza kind of scares them though.

Funfacts:
-their favorite carnivorous plants are pitcher plants and bladderwarts
-they cant help but make Faces if they try not to they end up looking even more fucked up and weird looking than the face they wouldve made naturally
-absolutely cannot stand their shaved head but hates how it looks when its growing out so theyre just doomed for now
-has a bad habit of correcting people even if they were being wrong as a joke
-isnt smug but is more like. honestly trying to control everything and keep the "facts" on the table that they forget to act casually and relax a little
-has an exotropic eye, doesnt mind it being seen and is pretty much over being insecure about it at this point, but still doesnt like jokes about it
-HATES nicknames. call them ashley or call them Nothing.
