Eliot is well liked by his peers for his mature attitude without coming across as strict or boring, girls his age like the fact that hes respectful and cleaner than the other boys they know (though some judge him for other reasons) and the boys his age find him nonthreatening and nice enough to usually leave alone. Usually. He is always friendly to people but not overly so, he could be described as Chill. He has the sort of clean image of boyband members from the early 2000s. He brings a guitar to school and plays it kind of badly but is humble about it which people find either harmless enough or endearing. Hes like an embodiment of what company execs thought teen girls thought was dreamy when they casted zac effron in highschool musical except in the form of a transmasc latino dude. And hes funny. 

And a good portion of his behavior is, while not an act, intentionally done to make others like him in hopes of avoiding being harmed or harassed. He is deeply afraid of the hidden potential for cruelty and violence people can have as he had a bad encounter with klaus' father growing up that made him understand there are some people in this world who are just capable of senseless antagonism. He is a bit of a people pleaser but without making it obvious, but at the same time he will outright ignore aspects of others that he doesnt feel like confronting right now or dealing with by acting oblivious or constructing ways of skirting it being brought up. He is genuinely a nice person and does really care about others and his hobbies and passions are all genuine, but he tries too hard to be "good" and the kind of person no one would dislike, which just isnt possible. It wears him out and can make him have less bandwidth for dealing with his connections and as a consequence, he isnt close with people like they think he is with them. It can exhausting and lonely and make him almost reluctant to try to make friends. 

Relationships:
Liza- His girl best friend, he has known Liza since they were literal tiny children and she was his rock throughout elementary and a bit of middle school. He got bullied pretty relentlessly in latter elementary and she stood up for him (and Klaus) even though she got in serious trouble for it with their teachers, something he knew bothered her but she felt it was still wrong for him to have to deal with things like that. He feels the most comfortable being himself around her and klaus. Liza he can speak the most frankly with which he needs so badly. They share their taste in music and have considerable fashion overlap so they go out together a lot to find clothes or pick up CDs or just walk around.

Klaus- His boy best friend, Eliot is sort of a unit with Klaus, while Liza does her own thing sometimes, Eliot is almost always with Klaus and honestly feels lonely when theyre not together. Sometimes Klaus does stay at Liza's place instead of Eliot's to give him a "break" but honestly he just is bored and listless by himself. Eliot is one of the few people who get to see Klaus more relaxed and silly and he likes those parts of him. He feels comfortable with how sincere Klaus is and how he is genuinely so sweet if you give him a chance to be. While Liza is super important to Eliot as a grounding force and a place he can decompress, Klaus is important as a place of gentle acceptance and care for when hes just Tired. The two have a very emotionally intimate friendship, even if they dont share a lot of hobbies (mostly because Klaus doesnt really have many).

Ashley+Reese- Reese is fine, great, totally cool really glad Ashley brought them along because Ashley is a lot more relaxed with Reese around which makes Eliot happy because he can tell how stressed Ashley is as a person. Reese is eccentric but really charming in their own way, Eliot likes how they just are themself and even if most people are offput by them, hes not. He respects and almost admires that about them. Ashley started hanging out with him because they had a class together and he was interested in the book on plants they had and at first it was really nice to be able to learn stuff from someone passionate about it who has a similar sense of humor as you and you click with, but unfortunately Eliot has recently noticed Ashley's change in behavior and has figured out they have a crush on him. This is a big problem for Eliot, people ask him out or try to date him a lot and he tries to be thankful people like him like that but hes tired of it. Its a hassle to handle and a hassle to reject and hes scared of peoples reactions. So he pretends like he doesnt notice Ashley likes him a lot and keeps a little distance.

Jon+Sawyer- Technically theyre Liza's friends first, though others assume Eliot is the one who befriended them both since he tends to be the most social but nope! Liza did, which surprised Eliot and made him immediately want to invite them to hang out with him and Klaus too, since its rare for Liza to connect with people, something she and Eliot share. They arent particularly close with either but really finds they have good relaxed vibes which he needs so bad its not even funny. Theyre like his media friends now, the ones he watches shows Liza or Klaus either arent interested in or cant handle.


Funfacts:
-he likes to dabble in as many different kind of instruments as he can and hes not good at any but thinks its fun
-he does the gay ass little bang flip sometimes
-he paints his nails black or other dark colors
-has band merch but rarely wears it because he doesnt wanna mess it up
-hes kind of the glue of the group
-his parents seperated before he was born but on good terms, he stays with his mom mostly due to his dad living farther away
-he has different guitar pick necklaces for different outfits, he cares about fashion a bit
