Sparkle Poof isn't my first original character, but she is arguably the oldest one (in terms of how long I've owned her). Remarkably, her design has not been majorly altered over the past 6 years. Due to her flexible and open personality, it's very hard to draw Sparkle "out of character".
Physically, she is a chubby yellow fox who is constantly on a lookout to make others happy. It's entirely possible for Sparkle to feel negative emotions just like any other normal being, but she has a tendency to block out these feelings. Her emotions can also switch at will depending on the situation.
Skills & Abilities
4th wall? What wall?
Sparkle frequently breaks the 4th wall and is aware that she is a figment of Peli's imagination. She doesn't seem to bothered by this though. Other characters believe that Sparkle is borderline crazy, but in reality, Sparkle knows things.
Deux Ex Machina
Sparkle's luck is maxed out. Due to this, Sparkle often narrowly escapes danger and is able to conjure useful things out of thin air with no explanation at all.
Walking on sunshine
Sparkle's default emotion is giddy elation. Her optimism causes her to give others the benefit of the doubt, and she rarely ever blames others when things go wrong.
A stomach with 4 legs
Sparkle will not deny food when it is offered to her. For the most part, she eats many, many things. This is why she is fat

Diamond Dust Haboob Special
An summoned gust of glitter and dust causes the air quality to decrease drastically. The likelihood of airborne allergic reactions (sneezing, watery eyes, asthma) is increased and visibility is decreased. If the opponent has severe allergies, this move can be fatal.
Gnaw Physical
Tiny fangs are used to inflict a shallow bite on the opponent. Not very effective.
Canon History
Sparkle's origin story will be expounded once I actually get around to drawing her comic -- dunno when this will happen, but it's a thing I definitely want to do Some general information has been included in the spoiler tag below.
Sparkle's hyperawareness (the ability to break the fourth wall) and having super luck is connected to Sparkle's ability to see portals and travel interdimensionally. In fact, Sparkle is actually misplaced in a different universe when she is young. She later travels back to the correct universe with the help of Ninja Kiwi.
Because Sparkle serves as an experimental test dummy, she will be the first canon story that I will write.
Character Trivia
- Sparkle drives a pink BarbieTM car and she drives like a 5 year old. She's also not good at driving games (like Mario Kart)
- Sparkle believes that everyone is naturally good and by default treats strangers like close friends. On average, it takes Sparkle 10 seconds to feel comfortable around a stranger.
- Sparkle is able to speak and read some Chinese
- Sparkle does not like to walk backwards because it causes her to trip on her tail
Known Alternate Forms
- Sparklesaurus (Canon) - It's possible to see this form in the main storyline- Bby Sparkle (Canon) - This form will show up in the main storyline
- Lamp Sparkle (Non-canon) - This form is only avaliable for the Haunted House AU
- Human Sparkle (Non-canon) - Design was never finalized. She would have had blonde curly pigtails and a headband.

Artist's Notes
Physically, Sparkle is short, chubby, and fluffy (I have yet to draw out her size in relation to the rest of my characters, but she should be about the size of a regular fox). Her ears are usually longer than most other ears (like a Fennec Fox) and her tail is about the same length as the rest of her body. Since Sparkle's simple design allows for artistic flexiblity and creativity, her coat color ranges from pastel yellow to baby yellow to a warm yellow with an orange tint. By default, Sparkle is most within her element when she is happy, so drawing her with a smile or grin works best if you want to play it safe with keeping her in character, but this isn't wholly necessary. All of Sparkle's emotions are extreme, so her expressions should be usually be exaggerated.
However, even though Sparkle's design is quite flexible, there are a few important things to consider about her design:
- Sectorial Heterochromia: Sparkle's eyes naturally are purple and blue. This is less apparent as Sparkle grows older because her eyes turn bluer as she ages. It's still possible to reveal the purpleness in her eyes by shining light directly into them. Drawing her with purple/blue eyes or plain blue eyes are both acceptable (but typically Sparkle is drawn with blue eyes to keep things simple and consistent).
- The curly things at the end of her ears and tail is a must! Sparkle is not Sparkle without the curly things.
- The neon green diamond markings are found on her forehead, the center of her front neck fluff, and above each paw.
Design Trivia
- I actually believe that Sparkle has one of the ugliest color palettes that an oc can ever have- Sparkle Poof's design is actually a result of a freak accident when I tried to make a rip off of InuYasha's Kirara. (Sparkle's personality and specific body type developed much later) I highly doubt that you can see the similarity between Sparkle Poof and Kirara though lol
- Sparkle Poof's name was supposed to compliment a friend's oc named "Sparkle Puff". However, Sparkle Poof eventually grew as a person and evolved into an independent personality.
Ninja Kiwi
[ Quasi-guardian ] Sparkle gets along fairly well with Kiwi and looks up to Kiwi for guidance, even though Kiwi never actually offers any guidance.
Cremeudi
[ Squad ] Cremeudi is very extra, but Sparkle doesn't mind at all! In fact, she admires his self-confidence and constantly applauds and compliments Cremeudi whenever he does anything.
Cadenza
[ Squad ] As a fellow party animal, Sparkle Poof loves to feed off of Cadenza's enthusiastic energy whenever they hang out. If you hate loud noises, it would be best to keep Sparkle Poof and Cadenza separated from each other.
Poiple
[ Squad ] Sparkle admires Poiple's rationality and considers her as a beacon of knowledge, but that doesn't prevent Sparkle from being reckless.
Moony McMoonMoon
[ Squad ] Similar to Poiple, Moony McMoonMoon often acts as Sparkle's "mom friend" and sometimes Sparkle defers to Moony's judgement. This still doesn't keep Sparkle from doing what she wants though.
Coop
[ Squad ] Sparkle doesn't really understand Coop and why he's so grumpy all the time. She often tries to make him laugh or smile by being (stupidly) silly or give him gifts, but that usually seems to just make Coop more irritated...
Wyck
[ Squad ] Sparkle respects Wyck, but his calm energy level doesn't really match her boisterous personality. Their personality difference doesn't stop her from being friendly though! And Wyck is pretty chill about their friendship.
Botchader
[ Squad ] In Sparkle's eyes, Botchader is... unsettling, to say the least. But!! He sometimes seems nice so he can't actually be all that bad, right? And if he's not bad, then he's good, and if he's good == FRIEND MATERIAL!!
Jinkins
[ Acquaintance ] Sparkle finds Jinkins to be very creepy, and thus he isn't Sparkle's first choice for a friend. However, his intimidation is not enough to truely scare her off, and so she still persists with trying to "tame" Jinkins into being nicer.
