Susannah Shin's Links
Susannah originally took an interest in Missile because he seemed both smart and agreeable - a good combo for a murder game companion. What she didn’t realize was how easy he would be to be herself around; between his own memory problems and the fact that they seem to be the only one in the game who pays him any attention, letting their guard down seems less of a risk. Between his faked ‘death’ and his immediate offer to help take revenge on the builder for threatening her wife, she comes to accept that not only have they made the cardinal killing game mistake of caring for someone, but that they would do anything for him in return. This ends up including fighting for their friendship over her safety, and she in no way regrets that choice. For all she initially complained about his color-coded nicknames, being included as part of the team with him and Solstice came to mean a lot to her and Susannah still uses them regularly.
Contrary to the name that he's initially given them, Missile likes "Mrs. No Fun Allowed" quite a lot. He values the patience that they consistently gave him throughout the game, and genuinely found them easy to approach and understand. His trust with Susannah eventually allows him to confide with them about his occupation, trusting them to only use the information if it ended up being important for the game they were trapped in.
By the end of the game, Missile considers Susannah an important friend, and will do anything for them, from innocent pranks to genuine plans of revenge towards anyone who decides to mess with Susannah or her wife. He doesn't understand why everyone has trouble talking to her. Red's fun!
While his initial nickname was used to remember her stern expression, Missile more commonly calls her Red to match with himself (blue) and Solstice (yellow). He sees the three of them as a team, and values the notes he took of their adventures greatly.
Susannah had barely given a second thought to Guinevere Orchid's kid prior to their getting trapped in a strange game together. In that limited company, however, she sought out the most familiar face with the idea the Orchids might owe her a favor if the two survived, and a vague hope Cordelia might prove to be more interesting than they seemed. Susannah never expected her to be THIS interesting, but they can't say they're disappointed. They expect things between them to go mostly back to normal now that they are free, but at least they know who to seek out if things get boring at conferences.
Cordelia finds Susannah relatable, making them easy to find common ground with. Though she's not above using any of Susannah's secrets for her own gain (and who wouldn't during a killing game?), Susannah is also one of the few people Cordelia knows she can place her trust in. A definite pal on the 'bestie to actual best friend' scale, though she won't admit to that.
You can’t call her a bad influence when they didn’t even remember the guy existed while the influencing was happening. By the time Susannah learned Yellow’s deal as X052 and the moderator, they already knew that this person as someone who was trusted by Missile, treated him well, and was willing to play along with her own shenanigans. When others take the information less well, she does what she can to protect them (though in the way she found the most fun). With Missile’s help, Susannah becomes able to recognize Solstice consistently, and they’re very thankful to still be able to even after they re-entered the world. Though she would say she’s happy just because it makes it easier to prank people, her actions make it clear that she values maintaining their friendship and will do anything to keep Solstice from feeling alone again.
Over the course of the game, Susannah has proven time and time again to be interesting, fun, yet extremely respectful to both them and Missile. They've given Solstice the means to experience things as an Actual Human Being, and provided them the patience to explain their situation at their own pace - given the circumstances, Sol never thought either of them could be possible.
Because of this, Solstice puts a lot of trust in the person Missile and them call Red. They'd do anything to ensure their safety, and are grateful when Susannah does the same for them, especially during the latter half of OFFLINE.
Post game, Susannah is one of the very few who can still recognize Solstice at a glance. That said, whenever Solstice is borrowing an identity, they'll still use Susannah's nickname to clear up any uncertainty.
