Amaretto Sour's Links
Mainly knows Strawberry through her online social presence. Enjoys her pastel, soft approach, but can keenly catch on that there's more to her than meets the eye.
Is inspired by Amaretto's works, and sometimes uses them as foundation for her cosplay photoshoots. Strawberry can also sympathize with the awkwardness that comes with handling aggressive fans, though of the two, she's more opt to break character to shut them down than Retto is.
At first, Amaretto's interest in Hollis solely was for the might that his persona wielded in combat. But when rumor came that the work Hollis had been working on had to do with controlling slimes, and Amaretto got to see firsthand what the results of that could be...
Well, this is a fun development, is it not? After talking to (read: low key trying to blackmail) her, Amaretto has found a interest in Hollis, and is always eager to learn more about what she's up to. She's even offered to give Hollis the ability to gain more exposure for her work, should Hollis need it (though, Amaretto wonders if all the stunts that had been done have already given Hollis a sizable name.)
Heh heh heh... I see, Ammy, I see.
Amaretto finds Surei interesting - constantly exceeding her expectations, Retto enjoys their company, and always on the watch to see just what sort of nonsense they'll pull. They admire Surei's desire for others to take their roles seriously, and their daring to challenge anything, even if Retto herself might take a step back to observe the outcome rather than join in the fray.
Retto's feelings on Desmonde is... complicated, to say the least. When they're lobbing quips and goofing around, he's super easy to read - and very fun to tease! But whenever he's genuine? She has NO idea how she's supposed to handle it.
There's a part of her, deep, deep down, that wouldn't mind a geninue friendship. But how in the world can a girl like her have that, if her whole life is built around seeing who can take advantage of the other first?
Caliber's cute, and doesn't get upset easily. She's the sort of person that Retto could actually put a level of trust into - and given Retto's general fascination with someone's potential, knew how to put her abilities to good use. While she sees the two of them on a give and take sort of 'friendship', they've vowed to ensure that Caliber gets the much needed funds for her invention should she make it out of the game alive.
Caliber doesn't know her much of her online presence - she's not glued to her phone like most people, and Caliber's adventures in the ONLINE space are mostly because Jane wants to. So when she's approached to meet her at the docks...she certainly didn't expect to be doing so with the goal of faking her murder.
Caliber has to wonder just why she decided to trust her - she had no reason to. But she's happy in the end to have taken the gamble, and hopes that she's able to make it out of the game in one piece.
There's SO many things that Retto can say about Vegas. He's hotheaded and fun to tease, but he's also pretty capable when he puts his mind to it. That's perfect for dungeon diving, isn't it? She gets to be entertained AND have a strong guy back her up when things get difficult! Win-win.
There's a part of her that would be curious how a genuine friendship would go between the two of them - but that would involve actually being nice, and admitting that the two of them could actually have something in common with each other.
Vegas doesn't really...get Amaretto, nor does he want to. He thinks of her as an attention seeking drama queen who likes to air people's dirty laundry, but he's willing to play along if she's willing to pay. He will get pissed if she tries something on him though.
While after first she saw him as just a 'grumpy old man' (as Ono might put it), recent events have given her 2000% more interest in wanting to talk to him.
He's still grumpy, though.
Ponzu has seen her in and out of the cafe before, and he's definitely seen her online. He doesn't have much reason to talk to her...so why is she suddenly noisy about a guy like him?
Retto overall finds Cerise enjoyable - not only does she see the perfect opportunity to collab and get each other's names out, but she's also the sort of person Retto can easily find conversation with! Cerise knows so many others through her podcast, after all - maybe the information she learns isn't always blackmail worthy, but they're fun tidbits to know nonetheless.
Amaretto's demographic overlaps with Cerise's just the right amount for the two to advertise each others content without alienating anyone, and Cerise is glad that Retto is bright enough to realize that as well. She's also fun to spend time with and not a teenager, the combination of which can be hard to find when exploring the Chasms.
Retto has mixed feelings about her mom - she's the one who took her off the streets years ago, but the two of them hardly talk outside 'important matters' such as family finances and business connections. Their relationship is distant and strained at best.
Still, for her mother's reputation, Retto keeps her influencer self separate from her actual life as a roundabout 'thanks' for what her mother has done for her.
Unaware of Cordelia's influencer lifestyle, Guinevere sees her as a lonely, quiet girl with little interest in others. So it comes to a huge to surprise when she learns that she has friends looking for her - and wonders what can be done to encourage Cordelia to open up to her more.
Being professional and put together around her, Guinevere keeps quiet about her nerdier hobbies around Cordelia - worried that she won't be as respectable should these hobbies come to light.
Cordelia finds Susannah relatable, making them easy to find common ground with. Though she's not above using any of Susannah's secrets for her own gain (and who wouldn't during a killing game?), Susannah is also one of the few people Cordelia knows she can place her trust in. A definite pal on the 'bestie to actual best friend' scale, though she won't admit to that.
Susannah had barely given a second thought to Guinevere Orchid's kid prior to their getting trapped in a strange game together. In that limited company, however, she sought out the most familiar face with the idea the Orchids might owe her a favor if the two survived, and a vague hope Cordelia might prove to be more interesting than they seemed. Susannah never expected her to be THIS interesting, but they can't say they're disappointed. They expect things between them to go mostly back to normal now that they are free, but at least they know who to seek out if things get boring at conferences.
