Profile
Oliver is a rather peculiar scientist -- he somehow finds a way to exude confidence and insecurity all at once. Perhaps it's because of his less than ideal social skills, or the way that he tends to stammer and pause in-between his words... combined with the fact that he was a prodigy even from a young age, and a self-proclaimed genius. Growing up, he'd always faced a lot of high expectations; something he still sets for himself to this day and diligently follows. He prefers working alone in a quiet space, however -- and will grow irritated if he has to speak to people for prolonged periods of time. When he does talk to co-workers, he insists that they refer to him with his "Doctor" title every time; much to his dismay, they usually don't.
Unbeknownst to many, he seems to have a strange form of fascination with Subject #1021 -- to the point where it could be considered highly unethical. But he can't help it; he's never seen such a beautiful human created by science. As much as he desperately wants to profess the way he feels, he keeps it to himself. That's definitely for the better... much to #1021's dismay, though, Dr. Laurier puts him in charge of monitoring the experiment's direct progress and ensuring that nothing goes wrong within his sector. It's hard to get rid of him.

- His Pokemon team consists of Beheeyem, Electivire, Hypno, Sigilyph, Eelektross, Parasect, and Eevee. The Eevee isn't much used for battle -- he's still trying to figure out what he wants to evolve it into.
- Beheeyem is his ace.
- He favors Electric-Types, but does prefer a variety.
- He's very fond of mice, and used to own a few as pets when he was younger. Contrary to his current job, he actually took very good care of them.
- Generally a night-owl -- he's often a bit drowsy during the day due to never receiving enough sleep; but it isn't too obvious at first glance.
- A bit of a closeted conspiracy theorist. Sometimes he's proud of this, sometimes he isn't; it depends on the day, really.
- His headcanon voice is Dr. Flug from Villainous (English Dub).
- It's extremely rare that he takes off his glasses. His vision is below average, or putting it more bluntly; absolutely terrible. He needs them to function.
- His pockets constantly have new things in them depending on the day -- but they're usually utilized to store pens and various crumpled up notes.
- Greatly enjoys wearing ties. He thinks it makes him look smarter.
Everything about what Dr. Laurier does is wrong, in Oliver's eyes. He wishes that he could take his prized subject away from him; all he's ever been is an obstacle. Not that he'd ever say it to his face... he fears him far too much to even come close to that. As a result, he keeps to himself out of paranoia that he'll be fired or booted off the project whenever he's around. After all -- Dr. Laurier calls the shots, not him.
Why on earth is she so jumpy all the time? In a sense, he understands; considering he's prone to getting startled and nervous... but not on the same scale as her. He wishes that she'd just learn to pick up the pace sometimes -- it can't be that hard in an environment practically made for a scientist, right? Either way, he swears that sometimes she glares at him when he isn't looking. He'll never understand why she has such a vendetta against him, but frankly; he doesn't care about a scaredy-cat's opinion.
He'll never even begin to fathom what could be so amusing about the way he reacts to Acarine suddenly startling him, or ominously looming nearby just to see him struggle to tell them to go away. Don't they have better things to do?! It infuriates him to no end, but he clearly lacks the guts to even stand up to them. Perhaps that's what makes him the angriest of all -- in addition to the fact that his complaints about them are never taken seriously.
