Rhythmia

For an older woman, Rhythmia is surprisingly full of energy. She’s always been the kind of person who does many things and it’s hard for her to stop. Plus, she’s definitely a chatterbox. She loves to talk about everything and nothing. Somehow, she’s able to multitask incredibly well. Everything she’s doing is completed well, even if it’s not fast thanks to the amount of things she does.

Rhythmia is an incredibly motherly person. She’s the kind of woman who listens to your problems and helps you find a solution. Plus, she just loves to care for people. It fills her with joy whenever people find ways to get better and she had a hand in that. Of course, Rhythmia knows her own limits and knows when to direct people to professionals. However, she always has a warm bowl of soup ready and an open ear.

Everyone knows Rhythmia for her dance. After all, she’s dedicated her life to dancing and she’s incredibly good at it. She spends a lot of her time choreographing dances both for her troupe and for herself. However, most of her creative energy goes towards her dance, so everything else tends to fall by the wayside - like her dance troupe’s name.

For all the things Rhythmia knows how to do though, she’s not actually that great at the business aspect. There are so many files and papers to deal with, plus money is a pain in the butt. She just gets so lost and confused. Thankfully, there are people who can help her out. However, it’s just so much.

Thankfully, Rhythmia is incredibly flexible. Sure, she has a bit of a plan. However, she knows that life tends to deviate from what she plans so she doesn’t create a super detailed one. She doesn’t get upset when things don’t go her way and knows how to come up with new ideas on the spot. It’s a useful skill to have.

Rhythmia’s had a long life and has done so many things that it would take forever to list them all. However, here are some of the highlights:

She was fairly privileged as a kid because her mom was a popular model. This enabled her to go to lots of dancing lessons and follow her passion into adulthood. Rhythmia got into many prestigious dancing schools and won a variety of competitions. However, that never really felt like enough.

It took her a while to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. Eventually, though, she figured out that she wanted to run a dance troupe. With the help of her new wife, a lovely Auracorn named Maia, she was able to found Rhythmia’s Dancers. It became her passion project, and Maia helped her out with the business aspect of things.

Maia and Rhythmia never had kids. They never felt the need. However, they ended up being parental figures for many of the Dancers, which was wonderful. Rhythmia adored being a mother hen to all of these lovely young people.

Maia was the one to suggest a partnership with the Ruby Slipper, which was an excellent idea considering the theatre’s rich history and popularity. Plus, one of the dancers, Persephone, was already close friends with the owner. Maia was able to handle all the business aspects, while Rhythmia was able to handle everything else.

Maia died a few years ago due to an unexpected illness that went terminal before the doctors could treat it. Rhythmia was devastated, and threw herself even further into her dance troupe that before just to escape the grief. She’s never fully gotten over it, but that’s okay because Maia was her wife. However, Rhythmia is still as much a mother to her Dancers as ever.
