- Although their given name is Katoru, they have been given the nickname “Kagi” because of their ability to fix a multitude of things.
- Has a bad habit of spending a little too much pocket change on gachapon machines.
- They speak with an Osaka accent.
- They present as both masculine and feminine.
Kagi works at the same private investigator agency as Yusuimaru and Mari. Because of their friendly nature, they were given the responsibility of overseeing new hires. In addition, they assist a nearby mechanic outside of their job. Their uncle established the agency where they work, and they were immediately assigned the role of firearm examiner because of their fascination with guns and machines. As the most independent of the three, Kagi can be described as the observer of the group; rather than being directly involved themselves, they prefer to watch and listen to what others do.
Kagi lived with their grandparents for most of their childhood. Though they got along well with their grandparents, because of the generation gap, their grandparents were out of touch with what Kagi wanted to do in life. Kagi's grandparents wanted them to do one thing, and what they wanted to do theirself was another.
Kagi's grandparents sent them to boarding school when they reached adolescence. They reminisce fondly about their school days; they are extroverted, so making friends came naturally to them. Going away also gave them the opportunity to become more independent. Following graduation, they moved to Tokyo and took up a variety of odd jobs. Nothing stuck for a long time until they moved into a small apartment above a mechanic's shop. At the time, the mechanic was working alone and looking for someone to assist him. The mechanic approached Kagi for assistance. Once the owner showed them the ropes, they quickly learned the rest, and they were even able to work as fast as the owner.
Not to brag, but Kagi believes they're the person who knows Yusuimaru the best. Both of them have known each other for quite some time. They still remember her first day on the job, and how different she was back then. Kagi is always the first person Yusuimaru turns to when she has a problem. She has always appreciated how they are a good listener.
Mari was also a new hire that Kagi had to break in, although she was not as shy as Yusuimaru was when they started working together. She was much easier to mess with than Yusuimaru, however. Though tough love was never Mari's thing, she appreciates their help with getting closer to Yusuimaru.
When Akiko decided to pay Mari a visit one day, they were shocked to learn that she had an older sister, since Mari doesn't mention Akiko at work. Whenever she visits, they make it a habit to come out of their office and say hello to her. They occasionally flirt with Akiko, despite her being unaware of it.
