Stel is an avid biology geek and is willing to follow his clone parent's dreams and become a successful naturalist like him. However, he seldom gets good grades in his tests and exams, with the exception of biology (and maybe music, as he knows how to play the electric guitar). He surprisingly knows a lot about plant and animal biology as well as herbal medicine, and is one of the five most active members of Cheung Po Tsai's Maritime Club.

Cheung was the one who introduced Stel to James T. Tanner, another biology and extinct bird enthusiast whom Cheung was friends with. Since then, Stel and Jim have become best friends. Stel would often tell him about his clone father's amazing voyages while Tanner tells him what he knows about Stel's favorite extinct animals. Jim and Stel often start discussions about life and biology during lunch time and always invite others in the cafeteria to join their debates.

Stel is pretty laid-back about almost everything - he deals with most things as calmly as possible and rarely engages in chaos. Though he gets bad grades all the time, he doesn't really care about what he achieves in life as long as he can still pursue his interests. Though Stel is very proud of his clonefather, he is still afraid of disappointing him despite his lack of insecurity with his test results - he often thinks about whether he is worthy to maintain Steller's legacy, and often seeks Jim for advice, to which he found out that even Jim could relate to his woes.

Sacagawea: Often infodumps to her whenever she is interested about the history of his clone parent or the ocean. Stel will try to sit beside her during lunch when his other friends are busy.

James T. Tanner: Stel's best friend and one of the only people that is fully interested in Stel's infodumps.

Georg W. Steller: One of the five most active members in Cheung's Maritime Club. Stel often talks to him about his clone parent's voyages whenever Cheung tells him that he is bored.

- Stel is the clone of Georg Wilhelm Steller (1709-1746), a German naturalist who famously accompanied Vitus Bering in the Great Northern Expedition. In the expedition, he had discovered many animals, such as Steller's jay and Steller's sea eagle, as well as some extinct animals such as the famous Steller's sea cow. He is known as the first scientist to ever step foot on Alaska. Despite his smarts and how he was fond with many plants and some of their healing properties, the crew of his expeditions often scorned at him for being "stubborn".

- The bird on Stel's shirt is a spectacled cormorant (yes, exactly the same species as Makarovich), an extinct bird which the original Steller discovered while stranded on what is now known as Bering Island.

- It is unknown as to how Scudworth managed to clone Stel, as Georg Wilhelm Steller's burial site was washed away by the Tura River in Tyumen as it was located on the riverbank. What is left of this burial site as of now is a memorial marking the site.
