Frederick Vernon would be able to fool anyone into thinking he's as straight-laced as his younger sister. While this is correct in many situations, due to his past in the military, he has too big of a heart when it comes to those closest to him. This big heart is also why he's so tough on everyone, striving for them to better themselves and to not give in to despair.
