Appearance: Dark black hair that droops down over his eyes and neck. Red eyes. Pale skin. His fangs are retractable, and he barely ever shows them. He's a pretty lanky boye.
Personality: Derek is a little paranoid about the sun and splinters (rightfully so) but otherwise he's pretty laid back. He's actually pretty quiet.
Likes: Sweets, music, and late nights.
Dislikes: Business classes (he's been through enough), the sun, being around wooden objects.
Supernatural Abilities/Objects;
Ring; A golden ring that he wears on his left middle finger that makes him immune to sunlight. Particularly bright sunlight will still make him nervous despite the ring.
Superhuman Abilities; Like any vampire, he has super speed and strength.
Fencing; Per his father's request, he's rather good with a rapier.
Combat Magic; He's well-practiced in shields and burning balls of fire. Occasionally he will summon an orb of burning light in his hand, or straight-up shoot light like lasers from his palms. It's effective against the other vampires.
Bass; Derek plays electric bass in his band.(edited)
Backstory: Derek is the son of his coven's Sire, Alaric Alvar. He was specifically born and trained to take over the coven once his father retires or dies. His mother died when he was a child, so his father didn't encounter much protest. After hitting vampire puberty, he was insistent on going to some sort of school besides his father's courses. After a year, his father relented, and Derek enrolled in Rapture University. He was rather formal and uptight when he came to the university after years of his father's strict training. There were very people who bothered with him, since it's typical vampire behavior, but Selena Mavis (now his best friend) continued to pester him, since he was the first vampire she'd met and he was "so BORING, loosen UP, Bloodboy!" Per Selena's encouragement, he's started a band like he always secretly wanted to.
