Character Bio: Derek was born to the Sire of a coven, and was raised to take over the coven once he came of age. He didn't want this at all, and disliked his coven in general since they kept trying to manipulate him for their own personal gains. A short while ago, the coven participated in a raid on a demon-protected shipment of supplies and were completely obliterated, save for Derek, who turned back. Now he's one of few vampires left in Rapture, and best friends with Selena Mavis, one of Satan's children.

Personality Trait: Shy, Righteous, Soft-spoken, and Formal when he deems appropriate.
Personality Fault: Insecure and worrisome.

Combat - 

Abilities: 

Glamour 
As a vampire, Derek has an innate ability for a Glamour. When he enacts his Glamour, his eyes will glow, and any human that looks into his eyes will follow what he says. It is a type of hypnotism. However, if Derek is too direct or snaps, then the human may snap out of the trance.

Combat Magic 
He's well-practiced in healing spells, shields, and burning balls of light. Occasionally he will summon an orb of fire in his hand, or straight-up shoot light like lasers from his palms. It's effective against other vampires or other supernaturals sensitive to light.

Strengths:

Superhuman Abilities 
Like any vampire, he has super speed and strength.

Healing and Vulnerability
Wounds that would put a human out of commission (Broken legs, big gashes) will only be bothersome to Derek by preventing his body from moving. Given a few minutes, he will heal completely. About 15 will do it for broken bones, 45 minutes he can even grow limbs back. 

Fencing
Per his father's request, he's rather good with a rapier.

Weakness: 

Sunlight
Since Derek is a vampire, sunlight can damage him. He has a ring with very powerful magic to prevent this from affecting him, but he is still incredibly nervous in open sunlight.

Wood
If Derek gets so much as a splinter under his skin, he will become as vulnerable as a human. Wounds are more likely to be fatal and bothersome. It will also halt his regeneration process. This will remain in effect until he gets the wood out of his body.
