Cory Mazer's Links
Cory has definitely scavenged pins and patches and stickers for Lucy. The two are in the process of painting and decorating her wheelchair together! Cory loves that she lets him talk about his special interests and has a lot of respect for her and her interests
They're punk buddies! Lucy thinks Cory is nice, although sometimes annoying. She respects him though. She eagerly lets him infodump about gun mechanics and stuff since she's really the only other person that understands what he's talking about
Cory likes Johnny- they get along swimmingly. They gossip together (mostly about Anne) and generally enjoy each other's company. Cory sometimes gets frustrated with how hard Johnny can be to read- even harder than others- but Johnny gets better with his phrasing and tone to accommodate for him after being told about Cory's frustration
Johnny lets Cory infodump too, but usually doesn't know what he's talking about. He just likes to listen to Cory talk. Johnny probably has a crush on him, too. They get along well and hang out often
Cory has some definite gay feelings for Aziz that he chooses not to define- mostly because he can't tell if they're actually gay feelings or if he's just a really good friend. He talks Aziz's ear off any chance he gets, oftentimes while being patched up by him (which Cory thinks is probably the most intimate thing imaginable). Sometimes his jokes don't land or he says something stupid, but he appreciates that Aziz still listens to him
Aziz and Cory are polar opposites, but they have mutual respect for one another. Aziz appreciates Cory's infodumping and rambling because that means he doesn't have to talk much. He probably has the most physical contact with Cory, despite his discomfort when it comes to being touched. Aziz always initiates it, whether that's a hand hold, a shoulder pat, a 3 second hug, or the occasional peck on the forehead (with his mask still on)
Cory doesn't like Anne all that much, but not as much as Johnny dislikes her. He's probably at least partially influenced by Johnny's feelings about her, but ultimately thinks that Anne is- for lack of a better descriptor- a bitch. He'll still try to be kind to her, though, since he has to live with her. That doesn't mean he won't talk shit about her behind her back if she does or says something he deems out of line, though
Anne has grown up with... somewhat ableist views. She's definitely never actually interacted with a person with autism before joining the bunker, so she thinks he's more than a little strange. These prejudices and views are corrected over time, but her initial impression of Cory is skewed because of them, so they don't get off on the right foot. Not that Anne tries to be a bitch, she's just misinformed
Cory goes to David for hugs and comfort sometimes, seeing him as a paternal figure. He likes to show off for David and just thinks he's very nice. David talks to him in a very specific way so his words can't be misinterpreted or taken at face value as easily, and is generally considerate when it comes to his word choices with Cory. Cory is trying to teach David how to shoot
David is surprisingly less protective of Cory than one would expect him to be, mostly because his neurodivergence isn't obvious from just looking at him. He does act like somewhat of a father figure for Cory, though, just from instinct. He is very impressed by Cory's skill with guns- as well as his seemingly endless knowledge on them. He's a tome of fun gun facts, and his collection comes in handy
