Ermanaric Anselm Von Hresvelg's Links
Vanore and Eric met long after either were supposed to be in bed. Eric, who had taken to reading records long after everyone else had left the library, shifted his eyes towards a dark and gloomy figure leaning in from the doorway. He blinked once, twice, and did not accept that some kind of ominous silhouette had appeared while he read. Assuming it to be some kind of late night hallucination, he went to bed shortly after. He locked the door to his room that night. Not out of any excessive fear, of course. Maybe a slight fear.
The next week, he turned to see the same figure advancing upon him in the dead of night, and shrieked at such a volume he was sure half of the monastery had woken.
In the end, it turned out that this night time visitor was relatively harmless and something of a student, just like himself. They exchanged names and shared spaces, becoming rather close over time. If Eric occasionally notices one less book on the library shelves, he doesn't tell. Maybe a phantom moved it...
Vanore and Eric met long after either were supposed to be in bed. Vanore had worked up the courage to approach the library for the first time in their life, quietly creeping through the monastery to reach the knowledge they so craved. Imagine their surprise when they peeked in, seeing light still spilling from within, and met eyes with an heir. Vanore crept away as quickly as they could bear, breaking into a sprint as soon as they were out of earshot with their heart hammering in their chest. Vanore only dared venture back a week later, barely biting back a groan when they laid eyes on the same man. In the spirit of diplomacy, they stepped out from the shadows and introduced themselves. The scream was unexpected. The welcome to come back, even moreso. Vanore fell into a quiet routine with the other student, slowly adjusting to the fact that they were truly allowed to stand in the presence of someone so... Surface-y. She would consider them friends. Maybe her only friend on the surface, honestly.
Once, Eric had made the mistake of comparing their appearances. For some reason, Eden took grave offense to this and didn't reply, simply staring down Eric until he awkwardly took his leave. They... Don't get along well? He thinks? Although honestly, he's not sure if it's a true conflict or if it's just the way Eden acts around everyone.
Eden finds this heir to be very foolish, and usually avoids him. It's... complicated.
Euhhh... can't really stand to be around him too long. Don't get him wrong, he's a nice guy, just... who knows if he's in contact with his DAD, y'know? He's not risking a snitch on his lazy ass...
Eric appreciates Zhang Tian's presence, despite her being somewhat... Strange, by Fodlan's standards. It's incredibly refreshing for him to work with someone who seems to hold no respect for him. She treats him as an equal in many ways, unlike the others in their class. She plays around and spends a lot of time slacking off and complaining, but it's never awkward to be around her. Zhang Tian makes his lonely days fun.
Eric is wayyyy too nice to be an emperor, but Zhang Tian is determined to help him out. It's always nice to have a future emperor on your side, right? Besides, he's the house leader, so obviously Zhang Tian has to hassle him when she has the chance. Which is basically all the time, considering his personality....
Eric is obviously willing to marry for the Empire, but Iskra is a cold person. He's quite unsure about what to do with her or what she personally wants... For now, he's giving her space and hoping things will become clearer later.
It makes it even harder to face her engagement in person. At home, she could dream about running off and leaving behind some filthy, piglike noble from a foreign land. At the cathedral, she has to face the person she'll be affecting if she forsakes her duty. Eric is... Nice. He's a genuinely non-offensive fine looking man. Iskra is sure that if she wanted to be married, it would be an amazing match. She just doesn't. She tries her best to avoid him and awkwardly sidesteps his attempts to get to know her. They have a very awkward relationship currently.
Reichert is a wonderful teacher! He seems incredibly capable, so Eric is happy to follow any instruction and finish assignments for him. Somehow, he gets the feeling that Reichert has... Hidden depth? Something else? He seems a little different when he's in the classroom versus when Eric sees him at the training ground... Weird...
Ah, the heir and Crown Prince of the Empire! What a perfect student. He is delightfully kind and incredibly respectful towards others, though he's noticed... he is quite naïve. Reichert wouldn't dare laugh at the thought of any of Ermanaric's mishaps, and instead his compassion for the boy takes over. He must be well guarded and doted on in his life, but... perhaps it is a teacher's guidance that he needs most? Reichert would lay his life down for him, fiercely loyal to the Hresvelg family, and will aid him in anything he needs most.
T...though he shan't do too much, lest he be seen as a BUTLER.
