Summary
Roger is courageous, confident, adventurous and assertive. He was adopted by the infamous pirate Captain Storm Surge who led a crew of ghost pirates. Seymour genuinely loved Roger and gave up his life of crime to care for him, but his ghostly crew haunted him as they wanted to return to raiding ships and stealing treasure. Eventually Seymour gave in and forced his son to join the crew. Together they stole gold and fought bloody battles at sea.

Relationships
Eva
[ enemy, friend, then lover ]
At first, Roger and Eva did not get along, but the two accepted that they would have to work together in order to reach both their goals. Eventually they warmed up to each other and would eventually become lovers. While they are romantic partners, their relationship isn’t particularly “sappy” or “over the top” - their way of expressing love to each other is rather low-key.
Elliot

At first, Roger and Elliot did not get along - Elliot was particularly suspicious of Roger initially, but the pair eventually learnt to befriend each other.
Xander
[ childhood friend ]
Xanded was gifted to Roger by his father as a child, but Roger had always seen the parrot as a partner in crime as opposed to just a pet. The two are extremely close, knowing each other for almost their whole lives, and Xander is one of the few creatures Roger is able to be emotionally vulnerable with.
Seymour
[ father ]
Roger used to be very close to his father when he was younger, but their relationship soured when Seymour was forced back into a life of theft. Their relationship from then on was very much a love/hate relationship.
