Quite ugly in an incredibly generic and nondescript way, Kai has a large nose, bad teeth, and a big hairy mole on his wrinkly forehead. He's also bulky enough that his fat and muscle kind of blend together, making it difficult to gauge his true strength. Kai knows he's ugly... and owns it. Sometimes he even plays it up.
In terms of personality, Kai is always calm, no matter the situation. He never lets his emotions get the better of him, and always has a plan for what to do when things go wrong. Despite his capacity for cruelty and his lack of empathy, Kai would, in general, rather make a new friend than an enemy. He is always looking for powerful allies, and has chained himself to one of the most powerful allies he has ever knownā€”Audemus Emilios.
Kai is a charismatic manipulator, putting forth a carefree, laid-back cowboy persona while actually being a cold and calculating tactician and psychopath. Kai is selfish and only cares about his own motives; love is irrelevant. He is good at hiding the fact that he is a psychopath because everything about him seems so straightforward. In fact, he regularly utilizes people's underestimations in order to get into more favorable positions.

- Kai was built like a wrestlerā€”a real wrestler, not a bodybuilder. Now, he's a bit more like a gym teacher.
- Kai only has his left ear pierced, and he alternates between a small solid gold hoop or stud. He got the piercing when he settled down.
- Kai has knuckle tattoos that span his hands. The right: GIVE. The left: TAKE.
- Kai's poncho is made of a wool so rough it might as well be burlap. Audemus cannot bear to even touch the thing.

Like their Rogue counterparts, these Monks have a place firmly within the shadows and are adept at stealth, with lingering connections to the underworld. Unlike their counterparts, however, the Monk's spiritual training has given them some degree of power over and access to the shadows themselves.

After spending nearly 30 years married to a master wizard, Kai has picked up some magic tricks of his own.
Sneak Attack
Kai is a master of spotting gaps in armor or vulnerabilities, knowing how to strike subtly to exploit his target's weaknesses.
Working in Shadows
When in dim light or darkness, Kai can not only blend with but call forth the shadows and move seamlessly from one point to another, undetected.
Still Mind
Kai can overpower and break enchantments cast on his person with relative ease. He does not so easily succumb to mind-altering status effects.
Bedded With Death
Kai has learned how to channel necromancy specifically, by way of both practice and his bone-brass knuckles, and can imbue his strikes with necrotic energy to sap his targets.

- Kai's initial inspiration was Roger Rabbit. No, I am not joking.
- Later inspirations drew heavily from the concept of the character of Moriarty.
- Kai would be allosexual, greyromantic, and gay in modern terminology.
- Kai has several battle scars: some on his arms, stomach, and back.
- Kai's favorite color is green, he hates horses, and he knows how to use just about every martial weapon known to man.

Husband. The two have a slightly tumultuous relationship based on respect, sex, and consentual violence. Audemus' mind even exceeds Kai's in terms of genius. See Links for more detail on character relationships!
Nephew. Official ward of the Emilios household, Oskar lives under Audemus' roof. Kai has a slightly antagonistic relationship with him.
Niece. Unofficial ward of the Emilios household, Atalie also lives under Audemus' roof. Kai is Atalie's mentor and personal trainer. This isn't necessarily to Atalie's benefit, however.
