Oh? Are you ready for my tragic backstory?
Summary
Mads doesn't have much ambition in life, content to just goof off with his friends and cause mischief around town. This gets shaken up when The Dream Princet themself rolled into town one day with two Nightmares in tow. One thing led to another and now he on the adventure of a lifetime! Yeah it's dangerous, but at least it's something new!
Appearance
Mads is a dream that resembles a ball-jointed doll with a tall with a muscular build. His entire body, hair included, is made of hard tin and has some minor scratched on it. His hair is a messy undercut and usually pulled into a ponytail (He's a magic doll, don't worry about how it works) He's got across his right eye, and is missing his left leg below the knee. He usually wears a crude wooden prosthetic, but later trades it for a more sturdy wooden one that has golden magic woven into it. His fashion could best be described as "Roguish." He prefers a more butch presentation, but will sometimes go more femme if he feels like it, usually special occassions or if it's a costume.
Personality
Mads is easy-going, friendly, and generally unflappable. He's very outgoing and curious, usually being the first to greet a new face. He's a bit of a flirt and often times will do it without even realizing, and gets genuinely excited when it works. He doesn't care for authority and will often try to subtly insult people in authority positions and act out. This gets him labled a trouble maker usually, which he happily accepts. He can be a bit of a himbo, often acting without thinking, which gets him into a lot of dangerous situations.

Story
Mads came from humble beginnings being raised by his parents alongside his twin brother, Marcus. His father worked as a knight for the king, the family found themselves moving up in status when his father got promoted to the king's head knight. Mads witnessed his family change for the worse and his father became obsessed with the job and insuring his children would follow in his footsteps, and his mother and brother becoming obsessed with their newfound status, becoming like the people who used to look down on them. This caused Mads to act out and try to seperate himself from his family as much as he could, eventually getting himself sent to work as a guard in a small town near the boarder between the Dream lands and the Nightmare lands. a job he wholeheartedly rejects, instead opting to quit and just laze about town, finally getting the distance he wanted from his family. When Mimzy and co rolled up though, he was instantly curious about the nightmares and what they were like. He quickly ends up befriending Mimzy and becomes an unexpected addition to their crew. He didn't really sign up for this adventure, but he's more than happy for the change of pace.
Relationships
Mimzy
Mads was instantly facinated by Mimzy the moment he met her. He'd never actually met a Nightmare before, or someone who was nightmare adjacent like Mimzy is. The two hit it off quickly being more than willing to indulge the other in their questions about the other. Mads also is able to sus out that Mimzy and her friends have no street smarts, especially Mimzy due to her isolation. He gladly takes it upon himself to help her learn to navigate the world outside her home and learn to fend for herself a bit better. He finds himself quickly charmed by her optimisim and humor, and is delighted to learn she'd gotten a bit of a crush on him. The two rusk into a bit of a romance, but as it progresses, Mads realizes he wants this one to last and appreciates her patience as he learns to be in a relationship and not a fling.
Jabber
Mads knew Jabber from his brief stay at the castle before he got sent away. He never took Jabber too seriously, often joking with them, or trying to pull them into her pranks. Upon meeting again, he didn't think they'd changed much. The two have a mostly friendly relationship. He mainly wants them to loosen up and just have more fun in general!
Tailor
Mads is a little intimidated by Tailor, yet also finds them so funny. He thinks their snark is hilarious, but can tell how little they think of him initially. He makes it his goal to get on their good side, especially since he's dating their best friend. But it seems to work as they gradually seem to warm up to him!
