  DESCRIPTION   

The Sophist is a Slugpup-sized Slugcat, cursed with an intense unending hunger. The Sophist possesses no mouth, no eyes, no nose, no senses whatsoever-- not in and of itself, anyways. Instead, its senses are made up of those of the Wormgrass that clings to its body. The wormgrass senses movement and light levels, but is bad at seeing specific things; however, The Sophist has a very good memory, and will remember things for the wormgrass, such as specific places and routes. The Wormgrass also consumes all food for The Sophist, however the food must be either relatively small (no bigger than a Lizard), or already deceased.
The Sophist also possesses one further ailment: when walking, the bell around its neck makes an imperceptible noise, which strikes fear into all surrounding creatures (similar to a lizard's reaction to seeing a Vulture Mask). However, if The Sophist stands still in front of a creature, the fear will eventually wear off-- which is when it can strike, eating the prey whole. Crouching while walking will mitigate this sound, as well.

  PERSONALITY   

Cunning and manipulative, and with an ego about twice her size, Sophie is not shy about using her smarts and cute exterior to charm Slugcats into doing what she wants. Most of what she wants is more food, but The way her Wormgrass 'face' is put together was made meticulously to try and charm others into helping her. She is ruthless, and will stop at nothing to try in vain to sate her unending hunger, even as she herself is smart enough to realize that there is no possible way she could by herself. If she were to lie to herself, she does not need any other Slugcats. But, deep within whatever soul she has left, she deeply misses her siblings.

  HISTORY   

Sophie is the fourth child of The Receiver and The Wavelength, inheriting her mother's Wormgrass affliction in the process. She proved to be the most self-sufficient of the group, and soon left her mother and siblings to ford her own way in the world. However, WCV was concerned about the voracious appetite of this Slugcat, and what it could do to the local wildlife. So, as a safety measure, WCV attached a bell to Sophie to warn all creatures of her. It works, some of the time. Sophie is not happy about it, but figures she can still live with it, and it keeps distractions away from her.
Most of her days are spent trying to figure out how to sate her infinite hunger. She only keeps getting hungrier ever day, though, and no matter how much she eats, she just wants more, and more, and more.
