| Personality | Relaxed to a fault, Treebough lacks the discipline to be an effective medicine cat, and unintentionally harms others with her lack of regard to their needs, both in her role and in her personal life. Her medicinal solutions are often only effective at the surface level, or otherwise inadequate. She is quick to give up when confronted with difficult tasks. Knowing that doctors sometimes lose their patients, she reasons that her failures are always out of her control. Her relationships with her clanmates sometimes veer into inappropriate territory, and she does not generally give good advice. In all, Treebough is selfish and careless. | |
| History | Growing up, Treebough was often at odds with her parents and brother, who all seemed to agree that she was too careless. She believes that it was her parents who cautioned the medicine cat against taking her as an apprentice. Eventually, wanting to follow her dreams, she convinced SurfClan's medicine cat to take her under the wing. SurfClan was grateful that they did, as her mentor was short-lived, and as undertrained as she was, they were in a better position than they would have been without her. The general lack of medicinal knowledge in the clan helped her maintain an image of knowing what she was doing, and for the most part she did, but the unfortunate reality was that she was not very good at her job. Her littermate left his warrior lifestyle to become WeedClan's medicine cat, to her irritation. She hooked up with a depressed patient named Pondslush, and convinced him to keep quiet about their eventual pregnancy. She successfully hid it, giving birth to only one living kit (Squeakyheart), and sneaking her into the clan as a lost kit StarClan had helped her find. Treebough encouraged a girl her daughter's age, Swallowfur, to befriend her and be her emotional support, which was only possible by medicating the very socially anxious apprentice with an inadvisible regular dose of catmint, which later evolved to poppyseeds after she'd been injured. Treebough hid these dependancies from their clanmates, including the leader and Swallowfur's parents. Squeakyheart was often in the medicine den, but would only find out her parentage after her death in a rogue attack not long after earning her warrior name. | |
