Rivière Vera (リヴィエール・ベラ Rivu~iēru Bera), more commonly known by her epithet "Quicksilver Vera" and formerly "Plague of the New World", is a pirate from the New World and a nurse-in-training for the Heart Pirates.

She was formerly one of Caesar's test subjects on Punk Hazard, where she also helped take care of the children that Caesar had kidnapped for his research (though she was unaware of this fact at first). After being saved by Trafalgar Law, she went on to join the Heart Pirates and pursue her dream of seeing the whole world.

When Caesar Clown brought her to Punk Hazard, Vergo reported to the Navy that she had finally died, that way nobody would return to Wellspring Isle and panic when they realized she was gone. After Smoker met her on Punk Hazard, the government was made aware of Vergo's lie.

After the events of the Dressrosa arc, her first wanted posters were issued with a bounty of 90,000,000. Having trusted Law's word that she was now cured, the condition for collection her bounty was 'Dead or Alive'.

Appearance

Main Article: Vera/Wardrobe

Vera is a thin woman of average height, with two-tone silver hair and pale blue eyes. Although she wears her hair in several different styles, her favorite way to wear it is down, with the sides slightly pulled out of her face with a strand of blue beads with a clip on each end that wraps around the back of her head.

When first introduced during Punk Hazard (and in the flashback to 1 year ago), she has dark shadows under her eyes. After waking up following her surgery, they are completely gone.

Like the other characters she changes her clothes frequently, but her warbode largely consists of somewhat girly outfits with one or more patterns on them.

Punk Hazard

When Vera first appears during Punk Hazard, she wears a simple white gown similar to the ones all the children in the Biscuit Room wear. Her hair is worn completely down, and she has on no shoes.

After being freed by Law and escaping from the laboratory, Vera is given a warmer outfit by Kin'emon, using his Devil Fruit powers. It consists of a dark blue coat with fur lining and a plaid pattern on the torso, black pants, and light blue striped scarf, and matching brown boots and gloves.

After departing from Punk Hazard, Nami lends Vera a new outfit so that she doesn't have to keep wearing her now dirtied gown.

Dressrosa

Overly paranoid that she'd be recognized and killed, Vera digs through Nami's wardrobe to come up with a disguise before sneaking off the Sunny to search for Law. This outft is a yellow dress with a scalloped edge and a sunflower design along the bottom right side, a pastel yellow overshirt with striped sleeves and a scalloped pattern along the edge, sunflower sandals, and red-lensed sunglasses. She also pulls her hair back into a braid and sticks a flower behind her right ear.

Zou

After departing from Dressrosa for Zou, Vera changes into a dark blue crop-top with a light spotted pattern along the bottom edge and sleeves over a white bikini top, black denim shorts with a fringed edge, and blue sandals. She accessorizes this outfit with a silver and gold bracelet on both wrists, and gold earrings. She also pulls her hair up into two pigtails.

When Law introduces her to the rest of the Heart Pirates, they quickly prepare a uniform for her as a welcoming gift. This takes the form of a white dress resembling the boiler suits the others wear, complete with the Heart Pirate's jolly roger printed on the chest and back, and featuring a large pocket on both sides. With this, she wears dark pantyhose and thigh-high black boots. Instead of her usual hair clips, Vera holds the sides of her hair aside with two metal cylinders engraved with a fish scale pattern. She wears this outfit all the way up until leaving Zou with her new crew.

Wano Country

After arriving in Wano Country, Kin'emon used his powers to give Vera and the others kimonos so they could blend in better. The one he gives Vera is a full-length dark blue furisode that fades to a lighter color at the bottom and features a shooting star pattern. At the end of the sleeves, the Heart Pirate's jolly roger is printed in blue. The tomoeri is a lighter blue with a teal stripe through the center, and she wears anotehr layer under that matches this stripe. Her obi is white with a pattern of light blue squares that ties into two large bows in the back. It's held shut by a blue-green obijime threaded through two blue beads. Tucked into the top of the obi is a green obiage. On her feet she wears simple white tabi socks and black geta sandals with green straps.

Other

1ya

One year ago when Caesar came to invite Vera to Punk Hazard, she was seen wearing a simple denim dress with the sleeves rolled up, thigh-high black socks, and white heels. Her hair is somewhat shorter and messier, not held back from her face with any sort of clip or accessory.

One Piece: Stampede

During the Pirates Expo, Vera wears a new outfit consisting of a fur-trimmed dark blue jacket with spots along the bottom of both the bodice and sleeves, and her crew's jolly roger printed onto both sleeves in yellow. She also wears a pair of white shorts with dark blue fur trim over torn black pantyhose, and brown boots. Strapped to both her waist and right thigh is a small black bag with yellow accents (including a yellow cross symbol on the front pocket) that contains various medical supplies. She accessorizes this outfit with a simple black choker that has a silver bead danging from it.
