It's also the name of a type of necklace made up of a continuous string of jewels, which is the intended meaning. • The nickname that Luffy gave Vera (Kawa-fu/River Lady) came from him mishearing her name when she first told it to him. The first time she corrected him on it he pointed out that no matter how he said it, it would always mean river. • Vera's current epithet (Quicksilver Vera) was thought up by Law after he cured her.
