Personality

Despite being sweet and timid as a child, Slo-Mo grew up to be very full of himself and arrogant. He's very boastful of his achievements and fame, though becomes flustered whenever someone is unimpressed by them. His childhood crush on Cola has developed into complete infatuation with her, though he keeps this a secret out of embarrassment, and acts antagonistic towards her due to being flustered by the mere mention of her name.

Background

Sloane was once a timid and humble child with a fascination with cars. At his insistance, his parents would often take him to the local autoshop to look around at the vehicles being worked on. Here, he befriended and became smitten with the shop owner's young daughter, Cola Bones. It was she that accidentally gave him the nickname 'Slo-Mo' by mispronouncing his full name, that has stuck to this day, to his frustration.

Desparate to win her affections, but lacking confidence in himself, Slo-Mo started hanging out with her older brothers in hopes of getting closer to his crush. However, the trio proved to be a bad influence on him, and his skittish kindness was overtaken by an arrogant confidence as he grew up. While it pushed him to follow his dreams into the world of motorsports, where he found tremendous success, he also became rude and generally unpleasant, driving him away from the girl he longed for and the two grew apart.

Synopsis

Following the passing of Cola's father and her subsequent inheritance of the garage, her three brothers left in anger and began working for Slo-Mo as his pit crew. This connection has given Slo-Mo what he sees as a second chance to pursue the dream romance of his youth.

However, the arrogant man he's grown up to be finds trouble expressing his true feelings, and so he constantly finds himself acting snobby trying to impress her, making his attempts at seduction seem like nothing more than petty insults and antagonism. He's tormented by this and agonises over his constant failure to himself when alone.
