Duke Bonnevali Von Darkspire
Founder of House Bonnevali.
The youngest of the first generation vampirics and full sister to Argyroneta and Faethor.
Her half siblings are Rembrandt, Akivasha, Addhema, Valerian, Corsetta, Eudoxia, Sethra, Nelo, Flannery, and Sherri.
Bonnevali Von Darkspire is the 12th born and youngest child of Remilla Von Darkspire. Her father being Armont Rowe.
She is married to Aebel Lowys and has 7 living children.
Bonnevali has always had a streak of mischief and a love of pranks and the great outdoors. From a young age she could be found abusing her vampiric sanguinities to get a good laugh out of fooling her family, and sneaking out into the forests and mountains above the caverns she was born in.
Bonnevali has always been a fairly emotionally volatile and moody individual. This is something that led to some negative mindsets (especially about herself) that stuck with her for a very long time, and caused her to run away on multiple occasions.
Bonnevali's wanderlust was real, but fueled by a feeling that she didn't belong, or that she was inferior to her family. Her sibling closest in age to her being 10 years older, and her oldest brother being old enough to be her grandfather for example.
As a child, and especially after the incident that led to the death of her sister, Akivasha's husband, Bonnevali was plagued by twitches of feeling out of place or being left in the dark. Not belonging with any of her sibling's families, and being alone with two parents who had already raised all their children.
As she got a little older, one of Bonnevali's internalized beliefs was that she was generally just a "mean" or "bad" person. And so she would do things to reaffirm this belief to herself and to try and convince others it was true. Even as it stung as others reacted negatively to her.
The forests and mountains always called to Bonnevali, and she was known to disappear into them often. Her disappearances where always short lived, but never ceased to put her parents on edge. Until one day when she was 14, after a particular scolding from someone over a prank that had gone too far, Bonnevali childishly vowed that her family hated her and was running away.
She was not gone for more than a week before she regretted it and wishes to return home, but in her usual way of stubbornly sticking to decisions even as she wallowed in regret drove her onward. Thankfully as soon as she was found almost a month or two later, she quickly and willingly reunited with her family and clung close to her mother and father for some time.
Sadly, Bonnevali's self doubts did not end with that. Though she never truly run away as she did when she was 14, as she got older Bonnevali began to disappear further and further into the mountains more and more. Her exploration expounding upon a desire to grow stronger and measure up to the siblings and family she idolized.
Bonnevali soon began to dream of foreign soil, and began to plan a trip to Valkirii, and possibly Overgrowth. Her study of the country, her increasing efforts to train herself, and other preparations she made to leave were all made on the low down. And her family mostly didn't notice.
Until finally one day she very suddenly announced she would be departing at the end of the week. She had already booked a train ticket and found lodging on a ship. Her family's reaction was shocked and somewhat chaotic, but nothing said or done shook her resolve.
Her family let her leave only after promises to return and to keep up a steady correspondence, but below the surface Bonnevali was hesitant to keep these promises. Half believing her promises to be complete lies, unsure if she would ever return.
Bonnevali's trip stretched from a few years to just over a decade away. In that time Bonnevali met many people and made many friends as well as enemies. The last few years of her trip were spent as a mercenary. A particularly bloody and traumatic event at the close of a job her team had taken led to the disbanding of said team, and very suddenly awoke Bonnevali to what kind of person she had become over the years and fueled her with a desire to return home.
It took her a little over a year before Bonnevali finally arrived back home. And when she did she was greeted with a new adopted sister, Sherri, and the news that Rembrandt had struck a deal with Prince Philip and they would soon all be the heads of a newly independent Malchester. It was something of a shock to say the least.
In the following years Bonnevali slowly readjusted to her family and her new role. Helped along in great part by her husband, Aebel Lowys, that she met during the revolution. Bonnevali became a mother of 7 and her great sense of money and business aided her much as she navigated the duties of running a trade dominated duchy alongside Aebel.
Family
Remilla
[ Mother ] Remilla is Bonnevali's mother and the progenitor of the vampiric subspecies.
Armont
[ Father ] Armont is Bonnevali's father, as well as the father of her two full siblings, Faethor and Argyroneta. Bonnevali has a good relationship with her father, although both her parents spent a lot of time with her as a child she is far more of a daddy's girl.
Rembrandt
[ Half-Brother ] Rembrandt is Bonnevali's oldest sibling. His mother is also Remilla but his father is Zhand. Rembrandt is 50 years Bonnevali's senior. Usually calls him "old man".
Argyroneta
[ Full-Sister ] Argyroneta is Bonnevali's full sister, sharing a father. Bonnevali has always looked up to Argyroneta, though because of Agyroneta being 44 years older she's always been more of a "cool aunt" figure. Bonnevali spent a lot of time with Argyroneta's family in her youth.
Faethor
[ Full-Brother ] Faethor is Bonnevali's full brother, sharing a father. He is 44 years older. Bonnevali in her youth found Faethor rather boring in general but when Faethor told tales of the places he'd traveled she had always been enamored, the two siblings throughout their lives were both able to bond over there excitement for the outside world.
Due to the time she spent with Argyroneta and her children Bonnevali picked up the micheveous habit of tormenting Faethor by sneaking up and kicking his shins. She was quick to stop when Faethor's daughter, Guinevere, tried to put a stop to this, making sure to only try when Guinevere wasn't there to see.
Akivasha
[ Half-Sister ] Akivasha is Bonnevali's half sister, her father being Gilgamesh. She is 35 years Bonnevali's senior.
Valerian
[ Half-Brother] Valerian is Bonnevali's half brother, his father being Gilgamesh. He is 35 years Bonnevali's senior. Valerian is counted as one of Bonnevali's favorite siblings, they bond over their mutual love of combat and general lack of magical abilities. Valerian has always been one to stay out of "family drama" and he was often a refuge to her both in her youth and adulthood. Bonnevali likes to spar with Valerian a lot, especially when she needs to work through some things, the physical activity is a kind of therapy for her.
Addhema
[ Half-Sister ] Addhema is Bonnevali's half sister, her father being Gilgamesh. She is 35 years Bonnevali's senior. Addhema is a sibling that has frequently stressed Bonnevali out during her fits of depression and anxiety but that always evaporates once she is actually with her older sister. When Bonnevali first returned home from Overgrowth and Valkirii Addhema was the first sibling to find and welcome her and give her just the hug she needed. Bonnevali loves hugs from her older sister, and aside from occasional uneasiness about Addhema's powers of prophecy, Bonn is now very comfortable around her.
Eudoxia
[ Half-Sister ] Eudoxia is Bonnevali's half sister, her other mother being Kashra. She is 30 years Bonnevali's senior. Throughout her life Bonnevali has made many a stop by Eudoxia, given her horrible habit of getting into trouble. Eudoxia is a healer and has had to patch Bonnevali's cuts many a time, Bonnevali is always sheepish but will usually tell the story of how she got this particular injury in dramatic fashion.
Corsetta
[ Half-Sister ] Corsetta is Bonnevali's half sister, her other mother being Kashra. She is 30 years Bonnevali's senior.
Sethra
[ Half-Sister ] Sethra is Bonnevali's half sister, her other mother being Kashra. She is 30 years Bonnevali's senior.
Nelo
[ Half-Brother ] Nelo is Bonnevali's half brother, his father being Zhand. He is 18 years older than Bonnevali.
Flannery
[ Half-Sibling ] Flannery is Bonnevali's half sibling, their father being Gilgamesh. They are 10 years older than Bonnevali.
Sherri
[ Adopted Sister ] Sherri was adopted while Bonnevali was away in Overgrowth, she is 38 years older than Bonnevali. Bonnevali was initially avoidant of Sherri because Sherri just reminded her of how she didn't feel like she belonged in her family, and she was just "proof her family was better off without her." she felt replaced by her. But after a stressful encounter Bonnevali decided to try and set her personal feelings aside. After having a picnic together they decided to continue to have tea every other week or so, and since then they have been very good friends.
Melissa Argyroneta
[ Niece ] Melissa is Bonnevali's niece, her parents being Argyroneta and Filch. She is 7 years younger than Bonnevali.
Guinevere "Ginny" Faethor
[ Niece ] Ginny is Bonnevali's niece, her parents being Faethor and Melania. She is 12 years younger than Bonnevali. Bonnevali did not spend a whole lot of time with Ginny when she was young, but in the years before she left for Overgrowth she spent some time with her little niece. They truly became friends after Bonnevali returned from Overgrowth. She is also partially responsible for Aebel and Bonnevali getting together.
Solaire Faethor
[ Nephew ] Solaire is Bonnevali's nephew, his parents being Faethor and Melania. He is 12 years younger than Bonnevali. Bonnevali has never been particularly close to Solaire, she spent some time with him together with his littermates in her years before leaving to Overgrowth, but she lashed out at him when he accused her of abandoning her family as she prepared to leave for Overgrowth. Their relationship has been distant since then.
Odette Dreamglace
[ Cousin ] Odette is Bonnevali's cousin, her mother being Remilla's twin sister, Bismuth. Odette is 18 years younger than Bonnevali. Initially Bonnevali disliked Odette, but after she continuously insulted her siblings, nieces, nephews, and boyfriend (at the time) Bonnevali hates Odette's guts.
Aebel
[ Husband ] Aebel is Bonnevali's husband. They met when she was 36, started dating him about 3 years later and married him 2 years later at 41. Bonnevali is deeply fond of her husband, Bonnevali has long struggled with loneliness and feeling like she fit in with her family, but in Aebel she found an anchor and someone she could finally truly belong with.
Bonnevali can be very protective of her husband, moreso than she is of the rest of her family (that is, her siblings/parents/etc. family, she's probably about equally if not more protective of her kids/grandkids/etc.). She will get very defensive of him and if you insult him, well... Let's just hope he's there to hold her back from mauling you. (Cough Odette)
Dahlia
[ Daughter ] Dahlia is Bonnevali's eldest child, and heir. Bonnevali had her at 45. Bonnevali loves all of her children deeply and equally but she has a special connection with her first born. Despite their drastically different personalities.
Calluna
[ Daughter ] Calluna is Bonnevali's second eldest child, from the same litter as Dahlia and Delphinium. Bonnevali had her at 45.
Delphinium
[ Son ] Delphinium is the youngest of the eldest trio, which Calluna likes to hang over his head. Calluna calls him Delphi. Bonnevali had him at age 45.
Oriole
[ Son ] Oriole is Bonnevali's son, born to Aebel. He was born with malformed organs (specifically lungs and heart) and a malformed arm. He did not survive a few hours beyond his birth. Bonnevali had him at age 49.
Rosella
[ Daughter ] Rosella was Oriole's twin, like her brother she was born with weak lungs and malformed legs. Luckily she was saved by the doctor. She was later given prosthetic legs, she was able to live a full and healthy life. Bonnevali had her at age 49.
Brahminy
[ Son ] Brahminy is Bonnevali's child from her last litter of two. Bonnevali had him at age 55.
Halcyon (Hal)
[ Son ] Hal is Bonnevali's son from her last litter of two, he is the most headstrong of is siblings. He's somewhat of a hot-head. Bonnevali had him at age 55.
Lark
[ Daughter ] Lark is Bonnevali's youngest. She was called "My little Lark" by her father. Bonnevali had her at age 62.
