- Melv is a skilled hacker. Lives a NEET-like life, but doesn’t mind going out. A man of very little words, kind of anti-social. The person he really communicates with is Amu. Other than being a hacker, he’s also secretly learning how to be a coder as well - he likes technology and wants to know a little of everything.
- Amu is also a hacker, but less skilled than Melv. She hosts a radio show in the “virtual reality” so she’s some kind of internet celebrity, but it’s her “net” self and nobody knows who she is irl. (Her avatar in the virtual reality is the same as her canon design, both appearance and personality-wise). Amu’s more mature in this AU, slightly scheming, and is usually the head of operations. Comes across as cold and unfriendly, but as soon as she gets online, her personality gets a 180 degree flip.
- Amu and Melv were childhood friends, and their families were very close with each other. Both lived in the poor area when they were small, since their families offended someone of high social ranking during their childhood and made thier living conditions worse, both of them swore to work hard to move up the social ranking to protect their family. However, most of their families got too sick to move with them and eventually passed away. The two decided to form the hacker group/alliance due to similar goals and rely on each other for support.
- After achieving a social rank high enough to live in the rich area, both work as hackers to gain benefits from people who are in the rich district – especially the people who were born there and had a high social status without any knowledge on technology (think of it as some sort of revenge I guess? since they worked really hard to get up the social ladder but there’s just these kids who did nothing but can already live in the comfort of the rich area)
- When needed, Amu will aid Melv in his hacking by allowing phone-ins to her show so Melv can track people down/hack into their systems for benefits.
- Their “base” (more like their home) is in the rich area, but often navigates around the poor area too. Since they weren’t able to help their families, they still wanted to help people who went under the same situation as they did before.
- They don’t mind helping the government/internet police as long as it’s not something related to aiding the people who were born in the rich area. (That’s the only thing that they insist on.) They don’t mind joining alliances with other hackers for operations, but are very picky to people who wants to join their team.
