2162 | Apricity

Update: Apricity has been growing and learning to be more considerate and gentle. Her personality is growing and she is no longer rude and blunt. She's mysterious and elusive. More information will be added later.


Apricity is a mysterious esk, having really taken on the embodied spirit of the memorial terrarium she was created from. Left as a memory token at a mountain shrine, the terrarium was a offering of sorts, imbued with the hope and grief of the human who left it there, hoping against all odds that their friend would return one day. Nestled around the terrarium were other tokens and trinkets, left by others as well, gifts for hikers and explorers who would never return. She was transformed by Ayla, who she regards as she would any other esk.

As an esk, she protects the shrine, and the mountain. She carries the same hope, and also a fair dose of fear of losing things or friends. Sometimes this makes her distant, afraid to become attached. Other times she'll make a connection instantly and find herself in an instant friendship that she just cannot shake, even if she doesn't fully understand it.  

She is extremely enigmatic, secretive and flickering. Her iridescent fur along her neck and sides shimmers in the sunlight as she weaves elegantly through the mountain trees, searching for lost adventurers. She does not feel emotions the same way we do, and she doesn't understand many things. She is intensely strange, and often says things without thinking about how others might take it. She is unable to lie, but she also has a strange belief in the mountains, that they are the origin of the world.  She does not see transformation of living things as "saving them", more like "giving them a new fate", which in turn means she is stealing their old fate from them. This is something she is tentative about doing, and sometimes won't if its in an area she dislikes. Objects however have no fate in her mind, and she freely transforms abnormals like herself even out of curiosity. She sometimes will move objects far from their original position however if she feels the resulting esk might be a nuisance to her mountain haunt, resulting in strange boundaries or confusing origins.  

She shapeshifts at will, for whatever reason she fancies. Her shapeshift form usually does not sizeshift as dramatically as her normal form, content to stay on the smaller side. She often is seen using that form when interacting with smaller esk, while hiding, or while sleeping..
