- 000-iii Ikkit - Root dislikes Ikkit and his pranks, and wishes he would stop being a bad influence on Soot.

- 2715 Nook - Root loves Nook and wants to continue developing their friendship and learn more about her.
- 2716 Soot - Root loves Soot, but wishes he would calm down and stop causing trouble.
- 2717 Soon - Root cares for Soon as his little sister, and worries about her always. He hates it when she runs off to do chaotic things with Soot.

Before becoming an esk, Root was his nature-feature, located within the cave.
Root is part of the "Cave Crew", a funny little group of nocturnal esks that all live in and around the same cave system in a forested mountain area. They also share the space with Boon, a grumpy frog-shaped esk who acts like he doesn't like them, but in reality, loves their company.
Much quieter than his Brother Soot, often startled by him. They play together, but Soot is much more energetic and outgoing. Root just wants to be chill usually, but Soot wants to cause trouble. XD
