Kaito, he was the son of a man of high status in japan, Jiro. During a visit to a summer palace in India, he met Cosette, a young woman from France who was attending a course on vineyard care.
Kaito fell in love with her almost instantly. A few weeks of dating, and they were planning their life together. One day, She never showed up for one of their meetings, having been informed of her father's death, and sub-sequentially transformed into an esk.
He searched tirelessly for her for weeks, growing more desperate and sullen by her disappearance. He began to spend most of his time in the Japanese-style palace gardens, mourning her loss and feeling very alone. It was there that he was found by Flynn and transformed.
Some time after being transformed, they found each-other again and are rarely apart now. As an esk, he has retained his royal airs, he is kind, calm and collected. He is a positive but quiet esk. Regal and graceful. He cares deeply for her and treats her like a princess. He feels that he was fated to become an esk and find her like this, and does not miss his human life at all. He deeply appreciates Japanese gardens however, it was his place of solace in his last weeks as a human, and wherever he'll live as an esk, he builds a little garden there as well to meditate and rest in.
