Profile
Usui is the bass guitarist of Zebra Stripe, and a loving husband and father of two. As the eldest and most stable in life of the band, the role of being the responsible one falls onto him. He is indeed good at mediating and coming up with compromises, and he isn't one to really rock the boat (seeing as the younger half are much more ambitious than he is). Still, he strives to be a good support. And beneath it all, he has a bit of a mischievous side to himself too.
Originally, he was a double bass player in the orchestra, known for being a bit of a troublemaker. Back then, he was arrogant and impulsive, not unlike Kaho (which is why he takes to her quickly).
He took on the bass guitar as part of a dare, though he ended up continuing with it in order to impress his partner Masumi, a violinist in the same orchestra. While they had been dating, Masumi was closeted about her gender struggles; both Usui and the others were under the impression that she was a cis man. It wasn't until Masumi told Usui the truth that Usui started to make some life changes and promised to help support her transition. Since then, they've married and adopted two children.
- He is currently renting a bass guitar from the Carpet Club as he doesn't own his own, but is looking to buy one eventually if the band takes off.
